Me too
Now can you guess which one got rejected?
And guess who owns the inferior domain which is accepted![]()
First no one would spell Zinnia with two N's. Second no one would ever know what Zinnia stands for. Cortex can be used for a science related company, brain games, kids brand etc....and I'm sure I can think of at least 10 other things that it would be good for. Everyone knows exactly what Cortex means when it's said but no one knows what the hell a Zinnia is. CortexLabs by far and with no question is the better name. ZinniaLab would have never ever been accepted if it wasn't owned by Krell.I like Cortex labs. But lets play some scenarios here.
Doing quick search about Cortex shows the following :
corยทtex
หkรดrหteks/
noun
ANATOMY
Now Doing a search on Zinnia shows
- the outer layer of the cerebrum (the cerebral cortex), composed of folded gray matter and playing an important role in consciousness.
- an outer layer of another organ or body part such as a kidney (the renal cortex ), the cerebellum, or a hair.
- BOTANY
an outer layer of tissue immediately below the epidermis of a stem or root
Zinnia is a genus of plants of the sunflower tribe within the daisy family. They are native to scrub and dry grassland in an area stretching from the Southwestern United States to South America, with a centre of diversity in Mexico.
Now , we can argue both are limited but I can see something names Zinnia Labs more than Cortex Labs.![]()

Both CortexLab and CortexLabs are registered. Why anyone would spend $1,795 on ZinniaLab when they can register ZinniaLabs for 9 bucks is beyond me.
Great Lab and Labs names are always both registered if the name is actually any good.
If the use of flower related names was so common then why are all of these more popular flowers available in Lab and Labs? You can have them all. Knock yourself out and register the whole lot.Krell.. He it comes again. We hear that name a lot lol
Just a general question, Are most of the BB's buyers from the US or English speaking country? I can easily this name being sold to any South/Middle Eastern Company. The usage of flower related names are very common in ME.

I didnt say with Lab but flowers, palace, king, etc are very common words in ME. If anyone shoots 5,910 darts at a dart board you're bound to score some points too.Is it really skill or volume?
My first submissions to BrandBucket between 2/23 and 2/27 were reviewed.
5/17 were accepted.
Surprising to me (though based on research and not experience), the better of my submissions were not accepted: Qualityy
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I don't think either of those make good brandable domains. I don't think I've ever seen a brand ending with double-y, which could never pass radio or pronunciation tests. The other name is both long in length and syllables, and sounds like a proper name IMO. Proper names rarely make good brands since they can't be trademarked. Just my opinion, and offered simply for amusement and not to offend.
I appreciate this, Chris. Our acceptance of previously rejected names is very low, but if you feel strongly about something that gets rejected, please reach out to me personally and I will take another look. Since brandables can be so subjective, so things fall through the cracks!
I just added 100 credits to your account.
Brandable names have proven to be a very lucrative market and it doesn't take long for much bigger fish than BB to figure that out. Some BIG players have names on BB and are fed up. The sharks have already entered the pond. The thing is this. BB ambassadors and those at the top of the BB chain worked hard to get where they are. That should not be overlooked, and I get that. I totally get it. You work your butt off for x number of years, and you're successful, you get perks. That's sales, isn't it? (never been in sales myself but general knowledge is that the top salesmen in any business get perks - this is how it is in my part of the globe: NY)
Anyway, what I think comes across as being unfair is the fact that those with perks are able to list any name: good, bad, ugly, indifferent. While the rest of us may not even be able to get good-ish names on the platform (good being subjective). I mean, some have even reported having names rejected, yet a couple of months later, those same names are then published after certain individuals purchase them. That does not seem fair at all. (Of course, the only way to counteract that is to find GREAT names, not good-ish names).
I really think that BB should have all names go through the same process blindly. It shouldn't matter who the names belong to. After the names are accepted, those who deserve it can take the perk of the free listing fee. If you or I want that perk, we're gonna have to work for it. Respect that!
BB should be careful of their practices though: a big fish might be king of the pond, until the random day a shark somehow makes its way into the pond (I just made that up, don't know if it makes sense, but hopefully you get the point). Ha!
Well. If it is not even 1% of skill based then how come those with 3K, 2K or even 1k+ arent selling even 10% of his? Let me guess the answer...his domains get better expossure than the others? Yeah I heard it a lot . This Krell discussion will never end.If anyone shoots 5,910 darts at a dart board you're bound to score some points too.Is it really skill or volume?

Again Grilled and his assumptions. I know every post holder in any oeganization gwts different perks. I work for the biggest organization in the world and somw of the perks I get due to my post , others dont and others of different or evwn higher posts get better perks than me. Does that mean I complain a lot ? Nope. If I am fed up , I know.I have onw of two things. Either to continue or leave my post. You may have heard it before, but doubt you've ever understood it....
Someone actually registered the only one of the bunch that was worth a shit. LilyLab/com which is a thousand times better than ZinniaLabCheck again tomorrow and they might all be published on BB, owned by you know who :D
Sorry, couldn't resist! Still peeved at BB lol
Someone actually registered the only one of the bunch that was worth a sh*t. LilyLab/com which is a thousand times better than ZinniaLab
They can indeed.I believe ambassadors can pretty much list nearly anything they want.
I agree with this 100%. I think it would do their marketplace immense benefit if they removed the various avenues where conflict of interest could arise. Whether conscious or subconscious, there's no way that bias cannot enter the process of reviewing names when you are the main beneficiary of that review. A transparent and bias-free review process would do so much for BB's credibility IMO.I really think that BB should have all names go through the same process blindly. It shouldn't matter who the names belong to. After the names are accepted, those who deserve it can take the perk of the free listing fee.
This certainly applies here. If some are very very upset, why not they be change? Either creating their own private market places or even public and show us how you want it to be done.
