I have recently read that the drone industry is trying to change the word "drone" to something different.

The word "drone" has a very bad rep. for obvious reasons.

What do you think will happen with the word "drone" and drone domain names?

This one has been interesting.

I bought it via a Godaddy BIN listing. But, the domain had just deleted and was caught by another registrar. My transaction with Godaddy was cancelled and the registrar that caught the domain deleted it. Then on January 1 Domainmonster caught it. I emailed the new registrant on Friday with an offer. He rejected it and the domain deleted again yesterday.

I assume the first time it was caught, the buyer didn't pay so it was deleted. As for January 1 at Domainmonster, it's weird. The owner should've just taken my offer. To complicate things more, Domainmonster was promoting Copter.co as a soon to be deleting domain on January 1, after they already caught it. Very confusing!

What are these names worth each? Any ideas on what I should counter?

There are so many factors, related and unrelated to the underlying item to be sold, that each one of us will come up with a vastly different number depending on our own personal circumstance.

FWIW, the most valuable advice I can offer from my years of personal experience with buying and selling collectables, is to always leave something on the table for the next guy. Perhaps you know the old addage about the stock market ? .. "Bulls make money, and Bears make money, but Pigs get slaughtered."

An honest understanding and assessment between "Value" and "Worth" (they are quite different), when determining "Price", is extremely important.

I just went into ccTLDs with .de, this extension is pretty strong in sales:

Drohne-Service.de is reged by Deutche Telecom

1. Drohne-Service.de is registered through Deutsche Telekom, which are also offering Hosting solutions (i used to register a domain with them longer time ago), but the Owner is a private person from Leipzig, Germany

2. As a german native speaker i can tell you that these 2 domains are not the best choices language wise.. That private person might not have found any better freely available domain for registration anymore, hence going with this choice

3. German speakers don't like Domains without hyphens (if both terms are strong and descriptive for themself) that much..
example: Putzfrau is one descriptive term/job ("Cleaning maid"), hence Putzfrau.de better than Putz-frau.de..
but AutoService consists of two descriptive stand alone terms, hence German speakers (real end users) prefer Auto-Service.de (also Computer-Service, Industrie-Service etc.) over AutoService.de
