I browsed different online shops to learn more about drones (and potential names), and noticed that many didnโt use the word โdroneโ as a keyword. Instead they classified their products into quadcopters/hexacopters/octocopters (i.e. at wowhobbies.com).
A lot of domains with โquadcopterโ in them are taken, but not hexa/octo ones. What do you think about the keywords hexacopter and octocopter? (drones with 6 and 8 rotors). I feel that hexacopter is a bit โin-betweenโ among these three, while octocopters occupy the high end segment of the drone market, and they are really expensive (generally $3000-11000 each), and seems to be the the industry standard for film/video professionals. Hexacopters are also not cheap, and prices range from $1500-9000. High end quadcopters are usually priced between $1500-3000.
Just to give it a shot, I have regged (.com):
Hexacopter/Repair
Hexacopter/Reviews
Octocopter/Repair
Octocopter/Reviews
Octocopter/Shop
All of these are taken in combination with quadcopter, and dronerepair sold for 10 000 and dronereviews for 2960 (of course drone is more generic and has a broader use, and I am not expecting these kinds of sales prices).
Do you think there is a market for hexa/octocopter names? Or will hexacopter and octocopters simply fall under the drone umbrella/general drone sites, without any need for dedicated domains and sites? If you do think they have potential, now is a good time to make some regs, since most kw combinations are still available and can be hand regged.
