ok,

we know you folks watch this board because as soon as members discuss a good strategy asfar as type of name to go after, we usually see that followed up by a hike in premium prices for that sector, even tv.tv there are now plenty that are premium, whereas a year ago there were none..

So, no BS......with all the grumblings and nutterings on the number 1 .TV forum, (whose regular members I am guessing are no more than 70) yet own between them at least $$350,000 in regged premium and none premium names
we deserve to know what DM has done since the launch party to promote the extension..

Or is promotion of the extension even in your contract? Perhaps your contract reads "flog em whilst you got em" and your duty of care is to Verisign pulling in the cash without relly giving a damn whether the extension takes off....

Right now, I hve not seem heard or read anything about DM spreading the word...

Not to blow my own trumpet and I am not the first to have done this, but I donated a name I regged, Scleroderma.TV to the International Scleroderma Foundation, the biggest organisation on the web for scleroderma......they were thrilled and will start a sister website for interactive content

What has Demand Media done in the last year? May is but one month away.....swanky launch party.....anything else??

here we go again lol....

i am on the sidelines on this one and let the investors in these names comment and there yearly fees.

.tv is a portion of demand media total business. i feel mixed on demand media some...

i feel godaddy would be better fit for .tv overall.

there are some discussions going on with orlando.tv mark up and jacked up prices.i dont know much about this area.

to give away a name rather than let it drop ...... is not such a bad i idea ?? although i cant think of any names i could give away that would be a "community service" ??

Perhaps there are other people that have some suited to that purpose ? maybe contact your local radio station and let them have a contest for a name you are going to let drop ....... .tv mentioned over the airwaves ????? could be good

Shouldn't forget about the company that is running the show. Especially sense you don't have eyes behind the curtain.

I think one of the things to remember is that the extension is doing quite well and experiencing continuous growth. So why would they need to pump a whole lot of cash into it? I think what everybody wants is the big "WOW" promo... which isnt going to happen cause the extension as far as demand media is concerned is doing great. If godaddy was in charge of the ext I am sure you would see more "showmanship".

Is this your best contribution to the dot tv extension...to question the company responsible for administering the premium dot tv names?

This thread should be closed. Its completely unprofessional.

Demand Media has done little for the extension over the last 8 months and people have every right to question them. If you an a great affinity for Demand Media great, that sentiment is not shared by many.

And .jd Verisign runs the show, it is their company and their show. Demand Media looks to where they can mark up and make premiums more expensive. And I guess collect whatever income is being generated throught Channel Me as the domain owners are not earning anything.

OOOOHHHHHHHHHH, mustnt question anything...I remember the last time I questioned evolution - I got six of the best....was told it was very ungodly....

Is it now the national sport to close down evrey thread your royal highness does not agree with??!!

I spoke with Deborah Burnett today and we both managed to have a laugh ......cause we were not taking each other seriously.......she and Demand Media can look after themselves

Chill Pill Mr Allthings :|

They administer the dot TV premium names
I don't see why I should expect anything other than that from them?
I control a couple of premiums and any dealings I've had with DM have been professional, I dont expect anything other than this and don't believe they owe any of us anything other than to administer the registrations of the premiums.
I may not like the prices but don't expect them to promote something I made a decision to invest in.

Why Meeks ? Because that is what they said in their press release

Verisign and Demand Media to promote .tv sites for video 10:53AM, Wednesday 13th December 2006

The former chairman of MySpace.com is throwing his weight behind the '.tv' domain category, betting that it will gain popularity as more users watch, create and post videos online.
Richard Rosenblatt's Demand Media will unveil on Wednesday a deal with Internet security and dot-com registry VeriSign to begin marketing .tv as a preferred website domain for online videos, in the same way .org is used for non-profit groups.

Notice the word promote not administer and Verisign is the administration

Equity,
They have done this, he has trotted Carson out regularly, at shows and the like,
Can you show me where it says how much promotion or the level of promotion required to fulfill this promise?
you me or anyone else may think they should do more perhaps, but they have promoted.

You assume you are aware of ALL of the steps that Demand Media and Verisign have taken since this announcement was made?

If they promoted the dot tv extension, then they did what they said they would do.

Meeks you are correct I was pointing out the word promote. I have never counted on Demand Media or anyone else for how I do things with my .tv domains. I do not really care as they do not affect me and if someone is waiting for Demand Media to help them I feel for them as they are not going to be happy IMO.

I was stating that someone has a right to criticize them as this is really just another personal feud being played out here between James and Kevin. So the nonsense will stop and the thread will stay open, Posts that are off topic will just get deleted.

There is not related to any personal feud between James and myself. I have no contact with James whatsoever.

If you or any other member were to create this thread, I still would have said that it was unprofessional and should be closed.

you seem to have extraordinarily touchy feelings when anyone questions Demand media.

Now I know when I was part of all things we were.hoping for sponsorship from DM

Dont tell me you are still waiting..or worse yet, have got sponsored, but on the QT, and now have a duty of care to take a one sided view to everything DM does or more to the pooint does not do.

"trotting out Mr Carson Daly" on a regular basis (i know of maybe twice so far) is hardly a promotion, more a funfare .....

Well there is nothing unprofessional about criticizing a company or asking for answers sorry but that is not unprofessional in anyway.

James used no foul or abusive language he is questioning a company that said
Verisign and Demand Media to promote .tv sites for video.

Companies and politicians are questioned everyday.

I have no relationship with Demand Media nor do they have one with me except to the extent that I have registered dot tv names just like you and the other members of this forum.

Demand Media nor Verisign made any representations about the extent to which they would promote the extension.

This thread attacks Demand Media as if Demand Media said it was going to invest millions into the extension and you have proof they didn't, or Demand Media would do 'X' and it didn't. My point is that questioning Demand Media in this manner and in light of these circumstances is unprofessional.

If criticizing is unprofessional then I need to delete 1000 threads on here on Verisign and premium pricing.
