Dates India domains became available?

When (month/year) were these Indian domains available to be registered by those in Indian AND to people outside of India?

If my memory is correct, .in became available for general registration around January 2005.

So you're saying Feb 16, 2005 was the date .in, .co.in, .net.in, .gen.in were available to people outside India? They were all released to people outside India at the same time?

Feb 16, 2005 ==> general registration
I dont think there are any consideration for early registration for those who reside in India unless you are one of the TM holders
