There are quite a few people around here who wake up after all these years and all they want is to drag dirt on DAN and the platform.

DAN is an intermediary and not an actual domain name seller - if I sell a domain name on DAN and do not act in time to transfer the domain - DAN can't deliver it on their own because I am the owner.

I close around 20 ish low xxx deals with DAN and have no issues at all.

Indeed - they are the only platform who listen and try to change. Ever told Godaddy how their domain listing thing doesn't work most of the time and it takes like 3 days to update the price alone?

@domaintrader the scenario you faced is an unfortunate ones but DAN has little to do with it, more to do with the actual seller.

    @domaintrader

You're that guy that Holds up every line at the grocery store ranting and B*itching ridiculous are you not!

You say you have been in the business 20+ years(or w.e you said) and are all about "professionalism ".

Well if that were true ....you would know by now ...sometimes in any business, Online, Restaurant, idc what....whatever.......SH*T Happens! (mistakes, errors, unkowns)

Yet, instead of being patient, and "professional " as you mock Dan for not being

You could have waited till Today and had 95% of this Rant done Via Phone with Reza & the @DAN.COM team.As they said, you chose to leave a 4 Day page RANT like a mad football fan 4 days after the game.

DUDE...you obviously need to follow Dan and everyone else here & take a "WEEKEND OFF" get out, play some golf, go for a swim something!

Your Endless moaning and ranting and smearing here as someone with "20+ plus years in the Business" with so called " Professionalism" has made you look like a fool!

Just after listening to you here I would NOT want to do business with you either!

You simply sound like a pain in the @ss

You could of of simply asked 1 or 2 questions and said ok I'll wait and call DAN Monday morning and get it settled. (Dan has Every right to share a PUBLIC SELLER name on a PUBLIC forum) Don't twist it.

You highjacked this thread for 4 long days and have acted completely Unprofessional in your Ranting vendetta. When everyone else knew.....MONDAY wait till MONDAY shutup and wait till MONDAY. Like I said you're impatient, perhaps spoiled, idk nor do I care.

So the 24 Claim was not fulfilled...we get it! Dan see's it we see it.

We didn't need 4 pages of p*ss ant blabbering to get it.

Now go grab a fishing rod, put away the phone and laptop....and Chill

It takes a lot to annoy me as I don't like doing this and hardly do.

Now go catch a Big one Happy Fishing :)

    Good morning Tonyk2000,

We are already working on a solution for this which will ensure this situation will not occur.

For the time being, you can always reach out to our chat or [email protected] in order to mention the domain in question and our support will make sure to transfer the domain to its rightful account.

    Have a great day.

a huge issue is the handling of the VAT

in germany VAT ( value addied Taxes ) is 19%

so it's a huge difference in terms of price awareness
if its 19% more or less

selling at afternic doesn't need VAT to be discussed
as afternic acts as the seller
    to whom I sell and
the buyer buys from afternic- great:
    no VAT from germany

sell at sedo means : all prices include VAT
which is really bad as when the buyer is not from germany
he sees a price that is 19% higher than asking for

sedo refuses to handle this issue for more than 10 years

now at DAN they understood and handle it well

but it's more complex in terms of
    how to get the sale

when a buyer from germany is not a consumer who buys the domain for his daughter,
but a business person, who buys the domain in order to generate more business
he most of the time gets the VAT amount refunded by the tax authorities

means: he doesn't need to spend the VAT amount - just pays the amount upfront and gets it refunded later

so he is not interested in that amount in the first place
when talking to a customer on the phone you would never mention the price including VAT
but only name the price excl VAT

so you talk about 2500 euro, not 2500 plus tax 2975 €
talking about 2975 € would be mad as that is much higher = eventually no sale

but when the buyer is private you are legally not allowed to show the VAT excl. price
    and later add the VAT

so its all about how to display it properly in order to comply legally and still get the sale from a business person

the idea is: not to scare them away when showing the BIN

here is how DAN does it

    upload_2020-1-21_14-4-4.png

the price incl 19% is showed dominantly and the focus is on that ( far to high price )

I would suggest showing 19% including price
but in a way that it hard to focus on that price

    maybe that way

    upload_2020-1-21_14-11-13.png

    as we speak:

it's no good german to use:
    "auf dieser Domain"
maybe you simply skip that part

I can confirm that DAN promptly responded to the email I sent, and deleted the domain in question, as well as a number of other domains I detected performing bulk check. Thank you @LaszloSchenk !

The issue is even more complicated than you describe. Every EU country has their own freaking VAT rate. From 17% in Luxembourg to freaking 27% in Hungary. How would you show the prices including VAT?

This all drives me nuts, i regret i'm incorporated in EU. Might change it in future.

But from another hand, every EU business is well aware of it, that they always see all prices with and without VAT. So they should not be surprised seeing different prices.

Indeed, for domain marketplace it's much better to be incorporated outside EU. Like, Epik doesn't give a damn for VAT...

If so, shouldn't any EU-based marketplace (Sedo, DAN) always add VAT based on buyers country? Looks to be a logical way to do the things. It would be even more logical to always use the VAT rate of the marketplace location country, but EU seems to be of different opinion.

Also, is bank payout in USA wire with a fee?

the VAT issue is handled by DAN in the best possible manner
-by the way, the only marketplace who actually cares-
    ( thank you, DAN )

my post is about the question
how to show it on the Landing Page
in order to get the sale done

Will new landers sunset old ones? I am using the ”brand package” landers and would really like to know more about the new setup. Your sellers are running businesses too you know.

This "start from $10000 per month" makes the domain look much more expensive than it really is. It needs to offer something significantly less than total per month to be appealing...

    @DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk

new landing page shows, Domain Seller as online or offline. Does it mean that if the domain seller is online and the buyer clicks on it , he/she can chat with him/her ? Otherwise there is no use of showing the seller as online/offline.

When I click on it, it doesnt open any chat window

Mine did the same thing, it should show the "Payment per Month Amount " not repeat the the BIN price twice.

Just needs a little tweaking as it was just launched.

Yeah, that wording is totally wrong. I have a name for $688 and it says "start from $688 per month". "Start from" should be the LOWEST price.
Needs to be fixed now !

Just takes a min for the system to fully kick in after switching over, as I just looked again

The right numbers are now showing on the same pages! try refreshing and checking again in about 5 mins after switching.

Seems to be working and showing fine on my end now.

@Dan please allow option to have DAN "domain expert" removed from landing page. No reason for it to be there and sets tone with buyer that this is who is on the other end that they are dealing with.

1750 ”brand package” logos are missing for me. What’s up with that? @LaszloSchenk

    I don't like the 2 boxes for 3 reasons:

    1) distraction of the buyer
    2) DAN expert - no need
    3) my info : I don't want an end-user to see all my domains.

I have to agree with the others here @DAN.COM , I'm not "feeling" the boxes either, very Distracting and gives the page to much clutter. But I LOVE that this was released today :) ty
