I think that he owned it, just that it was priced wrongly, so he didn't wanted to take the loss.
They have reached their sales numbers because they are a cheaper alternative and pay out quickly....both geared towards benefitting the seller. Godaddy likewise grew quickly by being a cheaper alternative to NSI and others
hey when things work everything is rosy its when things don't work that your metal is tested! for me things have not worked as advertised, whether or not they will work out time will tell, I honestly dont know how this is going to end, all I know is that I will be there when it does!
Didn’t take too long to confirm my suspicions
“I am just thinking aloud, I can't imagine it does sales any good when you look at the trustpilot widget and you see the most recent review is 1 star and someone saying "I will change my review once you refund my money for a product you can't deliver and something you never owned or had the rights to sell."
As a potential buyer it sucks to see that and may scream scam to other end users. This has been the most recent review for the last 18 hours as well I can't imagine this is good for sales and i'm not even sure you need it e.g. SEDO doesn't have it, godaddy doesn't etc.
Not sure i'm right about this as maybe overall it does increase trust?”
Unsophisticated buyers will be really encouraged by that kind of publicity
reprehensible if true
And if that is the case here then the seller
has no place in Dans marketplace
As Rick Schwartz says
One piece of sh*t spoils the whole stew
Good point! Fair!
But still enough $ to provide increased support
I think people should rest in weekends! Have time with family, do something fun! Not wait for some idiots domain purchases!
People have they're own lives! Its not 1990 anymore when everybody worked they're ass off
You won't die if you do not get an update for 2 days
Domeen, not sure who you are calling an idiot but of course I won't die if I don't get and update and I won't die even I don't get the domain name I paid for, I won't even die if I don't get the domain name I paid for or my money back but I don't think you see the bigger picture here. Your right its not 1990 anymore, we have blockchain and instantaneous domain transfers and 24 hour payouts right.....but unfortunately Dans website seems like it right out of the 90s,
have you ever purchased a domain name on Dan.com.....purchasers required to send payment with 24 hours. Have you seen the payment options
" Bank wire, SEPA, Visa, MasterCard, iDeal, MisterCash, Sofort, Paypal, AliPay, WeChatPay and Bitcoins"
Go to the website and show me where and how I can pay by wire
Go to the website and find me their HOURS of operation
Your right I won't die no matter what happens at Dan but if they treat all of their customers with this same sort of distain then it will actually be Dan.com that dies and if they do...whos going to miss them
besides when you are the president of an online company doing 2 million a month there are no weekends
Sometimes the job requires overtime to clean up some messes, otherwise you might find yourself coming into the office Monday morning to a disaster.
Who knows, maybe your right, hope so. Hope the name comes tomorrow like you say in which case I'm ok, otherwise as John Walsh would say those first 48 hours you had to take action but didn't were critical and getting your name now is much less likely A lot can go sideways over the weekend
anyways they have zero customer service on the weekend I say lame you say not, thats why baskin and robbins has different flavors
Hope everyone was at the beach with their families having fun this weekend and that they will inevitably find the time to check their emails and cell phones once they get back in the face monday morning while I lay sleeping in my part of the world
it's not the 80s anymore
I see no reason why banks are closed on weekends
( I mean their computers )
crypto currencies and blockchain will cure it
it's the age of the internet
if you don't understand that
you will be out of business
as soon as a competitor understands and reacts accordingly
AI is coming
I don't want to be forced to take time off
when I want to work
that's the advantage of the internet
its called freedom
my time - my own use
I will not retire at 65
and I don't want to have leisure time
based on other people
schedule and belief systems
internet means the worldwide net
and its always noon somewhere in the world
but it won't change as long as they make enough money
so no cure here for the foreseeable future
'Bank wire' doesn't mean wire? I don't get it for me this looks like something like...you had an account opened in 2006, pretty much unused from then...and now..in 2020 you are coming back and try to out dan( who are not perfect) but who are light years in front of the big players, something doesn't look right here. I guess that you have find a domain you wanted for your business with a price 'to good to be true' and you're afraid that you will not get it( when something is to good to be true, than it isn't) and you remembered that you had an account at namepros and maybe you can force them to to something. You should try the big players, sedo and godaddy, see how responsive they are and how dast you will get your domain and than compare them with dan. I believe that you are upset, but to loose a whole weekend day just to trash them out..just strange. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that all this will not help you in any way.
Yes Frank, you are right, but your freedom should not force them to change their schedule and affect their freedom. They are big boys and they can decide for themselfs, whatever they will do will affect their business or not. As far as I know(at least my banks) will not do any major verification in weekends, just in case of fraud or lost cards, they will look them. Also, who should push them to change is competition, who is way behind. The conclusion of his threads is somehow that dan is the worst company out there and nobody should work with them, closing his eyes to the others.
Reminds me of the answers I got in the 90s
when offering a domain :
"why the heck should my company want to be present in the >internet< thing "
because you will out of business if you don't
"why the heck should a bank perform payments on weekends ?"
because you will out of business if you don't
Crypto Currencies will cure the bank problem
much sooner as most might think
today I see empty brick and mortal stores
spreading in my city
and complaining about amazon
crypto will not cure anything!
how come you know?
I have the crystal ball- it tells me!
How do you?
Its at least 10 years crypto now, nothing changed for me! I do not use crypto and will never use it.
Last year DAN came out with a big push for Crypto and Block Chain. Nobody else in the business cared. Here we are much later and still nobody else cares and who amongst us sees any benefit from DAN focusing on BlockChain ?
I'm not knocking DAN for their efforts, but Crypto/BC has actually been around for a long time and still nobody is embracing it. We had ATM machines here that had BTC logos on it, for some reason, those are gone now. Banks keep talking about Crypto like its going to explode in popularity but then a few months later, nobody is talking about it.
John McAfee, what a piece of beef jerky would look like if it were human and insane, keeps telling us that BTC is going to the moon. But then it just drops back down to mid $10k.
WHEN is all of this great Crypto/BC stuff supposed to happen ? It sure isn't happening now and its been around for a very long time.
sorry that's real BS
when does the internet thing become mainstream?
I'm waiting since 1999
and still businesses don't buy their name as .com or whatever
people are slow and stupid
Distributed ledger tech is being widely adopted. Why? Because it has the potential to solve problems. Here is an interesting read for the default naysayer inclined. https://www.cbinsights.com/research...ail&utm_term=0_9dc0513989-b2cd75f500-88047033 PS. I don’t hold any crypto.
how about more than 400% in 5 days?
as of january 2020
While importing a lead first ask the seller how to start the transfer because it's a seller lead. last time there was a mess, finally I convinced the buyer to accept Domain push via same registrar.
Not sure what you mean, the internet has been mainstream for many years.
It is actually about 3 straight days (not 2) my time zone, what with DAN closing the office (as far as I know) about 4 or 5-PM in the Netherlands which is early Friday morning in much of the US.
Please don't overload this thread with various offtopic discussions...
DAN already said that they plan to extend their staff in 2020...
As an experiment I sometimes ask people I know (non-domainers from US or Canada) about Bitcoin and Crypto and it is rare (especially women) to know what it is. In fact, almost everyone says they never heard of it or don't know what is is. I suspect it's more popular in nations other than North America.
Correcting what someone else already posted is not overloading the thread.
