DAN.COM (formerly known as Undeveloped.com) is on a path to be become the biggest domain marketplace in the world. We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

We've been the first on many fronts and proudly will continue to keep innovating. We were the first to offer optimized for sale pages since 2013, the first to provide payment plans in the form of lease to own and rentals and also the first and only domain marketplace offering free SSL on all domains parked with us for over a year now.

Good morning,

As we grow our sales volume, we have to at all times ensure we maintain high marketplace integrity that weโ€™re compliant with US, EU, and International law. We do this, so we but also our users never get confronted with unwanted surprises as weโ€™re building a company that will be around for decades.
Thatโ€™s why some users have to submit specific KYC documentation so we can validate who weโ€™re dealing with from a financial point of view and what triggers this varies per seller account.
This is standard practice nowadays on all legitimate marketplaces that handle transactions between third parties.

If youโ€™re a DAN seller for a while, you know we have a very open approach with our users and that we will never engage in over-compliance like Paypal is doing at the moment for example. However, weโ€™re also a company that has to abide by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate.

We cannot share with you publicly what our policy is now since it changes with the movements of the ever-changing laws that we have to work with and to prevent abuse of our internal flagging system.

This is very interesting, I've done about 80K and no such requirements, should I expect one soon?

Can you please answer if these are triggered by individual sales volume?

Also; would regulations of the seller's country apply or other countries?

What documents do you usually require and accept when system triggers this?

Is there any way DAN can make it easier to customize page colors for links, footer, etc? I see there are some settings for color scheme in domain setting, but they don't seem to have any affect when applied. I understand you want to keep branding consistent, but the strange green color of links and footer make it difficult to match nicely with a custom background image.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi UmerK,

As indicated before, we cannot share any details yet but it is likely it will be required from you considering the number of payouts already received. For KYC we require a few documents confirming your identity.

Have a great weekend.

I guess the nameservers for that domain are still pointing to the DAN marketplace. Then, imo, it's correct behavior that DAN shows a message that the domain is no longer available for acquisition. It can be fixed by changing the nameservers to another place and list the domain elsewhere, or develop the name. Google will notice this, with some delay.

Good morning,

@Future Sensors, is right. We often encounter parties who are interested in a domain but take their time to conduct research for example. If the domain is removed from the platform in the meantime we need to make sure they are notified when revisiting the page for example. When the nameservers have removed the domain should no longer in our deleted pages. We do not control the de-indexing of Google but the links themselves should deindex over time as well.

Have a great week ahead.

Good morning @simmplex,

Thank you for contacting us.

Do you mean that the loading time of the pages from Shanghai take a long time?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear Dan users,

Important heads-up for Dan users that have domains registered at Sav.com.

As you know we work with all parties in the market and we're a partnership first company. However, as of today we will fully stop working with Sav.com and do not support any domain transactions at Dan.com or our network for domains managed at Sav.com.

All current transactions will be processed but no new transactions for domains managed at this registrar will be supported anymore.

We cannot share the exact reason behind our decision at this point and we understand this can cause issues for some of our sellers. We're sorry about the inconvenience this causes you.

Kind regards,

Dan

Does it mean that if a name is registered on Sav.com, it cannot be submitted to Dan? How about the already published names? What if a Sav-registered domain sells, the transaction will be rejected by Dan?

I'm not sure what might be in the background. Is the decision final, or can be revised later?

This is a final decision from our end unfortunately. This is not an outcome that we wanted or appreciate but we have to draw red lines.

We do not take these decisions lightly either. For example, we have a bad history with Epik but still handle transactions for their registrar since our users requested us to keep supporting them.

Weโ€™ve given Sav months to correct their approach towards us and to our surprise theyโ€™ve escalated the situation today instead of backing down.

Through our lawyer we gave them an opportunity to show goodwill so we could start accepting domain pushes for Sav managed domains but they didnโ€™t take it. Their actions now force us to stop trying to work it out with them.

No transactions for Sav managed domains can be processed via Dan or our network partners anymore.

Kind regards,

Dan

@LaszloSchenk
Thank for your quick response!
Yes, it takes unusually long time for dan.com to load recently.
But maybe it's caused by my internet service provider,
as I checked with one fellow Dan user from Xiamen.
He said Dan website loaded fast for him.
