I own a decent chunk of domains I registered recently and not so recently in the .cx and .gy extensions.

I am now getting emails daily about purchasing specific domains I own for $500 buy it now, but I know if I hold out they are worth a lot more.

So far 26.cx and mao.cx have each received a few offers for direct purchase.

Anyone else own these extensions receiving purchase offers?

.gy means "apartments, parks, supply" in Chinese.

This was on one of the auctions I noticed, which closed for $2,688 USD on 4.cn

"GY:公寓、公园、供应" Google Translates to: GY: apartments, parks, supply

j.gy ($2,688 USD): site: 4.cn/auction/detail/aid/184183/lang/en

I registered all my .cx and .gy at domainmonster.com seems to be the best price.

.CX - Christmas Island, around $35 per reg at domainmonster, but open to anyone

.GY - Guyana, also around $35 per reg at domainmonster, open to anyone.

I like .CZ (Czech) and .CH (Swiss), both open to anyone, closer to $10 per reg, and both available at Godaddy.

.CX has a nice look for China.

.SH - Saint Helena, around $95 per reg at Enom, open to anyone but I like it for Shanghai.

.GD - Grenada, also a China province code with big population (Guangdong).

Only thing with many of these extensions is they are usually pricier and not at every registrar. It's nice when they are available at Godaddy and able to do account push. When they are at obscure registrar may be harder to do transfers and deals. Something to think about.

I agree, in a perfect world they would be at GoDaddy but I have successfully transferred some domains from domainmonster.com to GoDaddy that GoDaddy supported, like .com names. I just grabbed what I could on these extensions at DomainMonster because prices were reasonable and by the time GoDaddy adopts the tlds it will be too late.
