"Cut throat saves life "!

Hello Fellas,

This may be off the beaten track, but just wondering:

The trachteoctomy (incision of the trachea (?)

I've heard wonderful srories of lives being saved by a quickthinker, making the right incision, and using a fountain pen etc.....!
How many fountain pens are carried..................etc

Bearing in mind that you're not in a kitchen - with a ballpoint in your top pocket - how would you save that life?
I dont want threads telling me to take a first aid course - people who can IMPROVISE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet there are clever people out there who could save a life!
God forbid, but I would like to know!!!!

I might of missed something Charbar but what would be the life threatening situation? i.e. has this person lost a limb, have they swollowed a tennis ball, have they drank a bottle of bleach? I could say I saved a life by not pushing them off a cliff but I don't hink this is what you are after

Somebody has swallowed something etc - cant breathe etc....
Where is the tool to make the insicion - aand the tube to keep the hole open until..............
