Hi,

I have being saying for years, i want to be a organ donor, help save peoples lives while i'm dead and don't need the organs.

Anyway, I saw this on another forum, worth looking at in my opnion.

Also, read his story, hopefully that will sway some of you to be a donor and help save lives.

Today more than 8,000 people in the UK need an organ transplant that could save or dramatically improve their life. Most are waiting for a kidney, others for a heart, lung or liver transplant. But less than 3,000 transplants are carried out each year.

I've just joined the donor register by going online... (took 2 minutes)

https://www.uktransplant.org.uk/

The main thing that made me join was that 2 years ago, my mum (who was a donor) passed away. She died of a brain hemorrhage, which meant her heart & liver were still in good working order.
Her heart went on to save the life of a 43yr old mother of 2 (exactly what my mum was to me) and her liver saved the life of a 19yr old boy (exactly like me).
Even though my mum isn't around, I know she saved 2 other families from feeling what my family did.
I also got diagnosed with polysystic kidney disease quite recently, and there is a chance I will need a kidney transplant later on in life.

I understand that a lot of people aren't comfortable with the idea, and it is 100% up to you, but if you want to, and you can, then please do...

Something for you to think about...:)

Adrian
