I'm quite new to the whole domaining/parking/monetization shebang so I'm looking for some advice. I have quite a collection of domains but I have recently acquired a LLLL (.net, .org and .info but couldn't get the .com unfortunately).
I've tried parking services such as Sedo in the past and I don't think much of them so I would like to have a go at setting up my own landing page (possibly minisite if there's reason enough) for the LLLL. I would also be up for selling the LLLL domains once they're actually worth selling in terms of $$$.
The idea I have right now is to set up a landing page, and populate it with content about the LLLL. Promote it everywhere, submit it to search engines, directories etc. Use advertising such as AdSense, TLA, etc.
After a while I will check the value of the LLLL with a free appraisal tool, and if the value is high enough, I get the LLLL professionally appraised and then insert contact details and make the LLLL available for potential buyers to make offers.
I was also thinking of displaying the stats each month such as Alexa Rank, Pagerank, revenue earned, unique visitors, the value of the LLLL (after professional appraisal) etc for potential buyers.
Do you think the above strategy would work for bringing in some income and selling the LLLL for profit? Or does the plan of action need some work? Are there any pitfalls I should watch out for?
