Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

One thing is for sure...things will get worse before they get better.

I agree, absolutely different than most states in the US, native Texans for the most part grew up shooting guns since childhood, carrying of guns is the norm here pretty much, we have amped up carry since this started, I carry a Glock .45 semi auto, but since this began, I also carry a AK-47 in my truck , most of my friends are doing the same right now

my wife conceal carries as well, she is carrying a Glock 9mm along with my M4 in her car.

Abbott receives approval for test that can detect coronavirus in 5 minutes

Abbott on Friday announced it received approval for a test that is capable of delivering positive results of the coronavirus in as little as five minutes, and it will begin making those tests available to health care providers next week.

The Food and Drug Administration issued emergency use authorization for the point-of-care test on Friday, the company said in a statement. The test can detect negative results in 13 minutes. The company said it plans to ramp up manufacturing so it can deliver 50,000 tests per day.

so I can tell you guys this regarding the 3 regimen of National guard deployed to Dallas Tx , I just got off the phone with a friend who lives near Dallas. They are setting up relief for the hospitals in Dallas county, some doing set up, some delivering , and then national guard doctors.

I think our military is just setting up perimeter on the Canadian border for China and Russia , if either of the two or both were to try to enter through Canada I think US troops would fight with Canada , aside from that, I see nothing happening

yeah I know, I have not watched any news in one week now, I am paying attention to what I see in the streets and at the stores where I live , the news can overwhelm someone with fear because they show world wide reports with constant death , they rarely talk or show the people who have completed recovery from the virus
