Confused about Directories and PR

Hi,

I've been hearing lots of different things about posting to directories.
and was wondering if it's worth posting the details of a PR0 site to PR4,5,6,7,8 directories?
Will it just be ignored as they are normally sorted by pageRank.
The reason i ask is beacuse i have a site: http://www.pokemoncard.info, which is currently getting over 500 uniques a day and nice CTR - but it's only 3 months old. I've goy nearly 1000 backlinks - and was wondering if i should submit it yet to the higher PR directories?

Anyones thoughts/comments on this are greatly appreciated.

Also Google don't seem to be doing a PR update very often - so i guess i'm stuck until they do. :'(

PR is not that important these days, so I wouldn't bother with it...

BUT, submitting to directories is a very important step in the SEO world and I haven't yet heard someone who said "It's over. I'm finished with submitting to directories." because you have to do this all the time to maintain your position in the SERPs.
So, I advise you to submit to as many directories as you can using different keywords and stop thinking about PR :)

people don't normally post to directories for (direct) traffic and submitting alone is hardly a viable form of search engine marketing.

Post to the directories if they're established, relevant to your site and you think you'll get good traffic from them. Otherwise, save your link building efforts for more worthwhile sites.

BTW, with most "High PR" directories, if you look at their inner pages (i.e. where your link would actually appear) you'll find that the majority of those pages are PR0. IF PR is important to you, the PR of the home page means nothing - its the page where your link is placed that counts.

I always get my sites submitted to as many directories as possible. Because who knows if the PR 0 directory owner is also doing a link building campaign. He or she might be getting a good PR in the next update and I might get the boost from there too. So I don't leave the PR 0 ones also :)

There is no need to worry about the traffic through links or for PR boost from the pages where the link is showing. When you are done with the directory submission and think that yes this many are enough for atleast 2 or 3 years. Then you can focus on article submissions.

So submitting to directories is not waste of time? Right? Or better to buy links from home pages?
Which way is better?

spend your time getting quality links from relevant sites. submitting to directories couldn't hurt either, though.

And also better to hire SEO specialist and get guaranties from him.

Any SEO that guarantees results is lying to you. Don't waste your money.

A lot of directories you're likely to hear about were penalized recently, and it appears Google is clamping down. You're better off asking fellow pokemon hobbyists with websites to let you write content for their sites in exchange for which you get an author box. The handful of links you get from that will beat any dozen dozens of directory links you might get, plus some people will probably visit your site through it, and if it ranks, you're getting even more traffic to your site.
Something to consider, imho.

well, you will have backlinks from different IPs, so it will help your serps anyway...
