Hey everyone, im posting from my sisters computer atm, but my computer is in some pretty bad shape. The problem:

My computer wont turn on :td:
When i hit the power button, the computer will make up to 4 beeping noises, and then it will turn off, sometimes it will turn off even before the first beep though.

A bit ago, around 1-2 weeks ago, my computer randomly shut off, i thought nothing off it and turned it back on. A error message appeared on the screen saying something about my processor overheating. So I ordered a new heatsink+fan about 2 days ago, and began to use my computer, everytime i turned it on from this point on it made beeping noises, but continued to start up, at some points the beeping would go away when i started the computer but then it would come back. Then this mourning when i try to turn on my computer on, it beeps but then shuts right off again, and i cannot turn it back on.

What could be wrong with it?

Well, it said the processor was overheating, eh?
From what you've written here, it seems that your processor might have actually been fried! The heatsink and fan weren't the problem, it is probably your CPU that has gone.
What model of CPU are you using? Were you overclocking? Any warranty left?

All i know of my processor, is that it was a intel pentium 3.4 ghz
it wasn't dual core or anything. I was not over clocking the cpu, and i am not eligable for any warranty.

i don't, the best I can diagnose from here is that it was your CPU that overheated. I would really have to look at your computer physically to see what's wrong :p

Great site there, that should definitely help Mike out! That is also a great resource for myself, as I sometimes have problems like that and this would save tons of time!
