Help With Computer Problem!

Hey guys!

I was on my computer yesterday, and went to "My Computer" to check how much space there was left on Drive C.

But then the computer got stuck, and I turned it off and when I started it again, there was no beep, and my monitor didn't come on.

My computer's specs:

AMD 1.2GHz
256 DDR RAM
40GB HDD
WIN XP Pro
32 MB ATI Video Card

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything, but no result. I also searched Google and none of the solutions helped.

Please help me as I have alot of work waiting!

reset the cmos

look up in your motherboard manual for correct methods.

because its not beeping means its not posting which means its currently dead. resetting the cmos will erase any mothboard configs which should help it.

failing that your cpu, graphics card or motherboard could be dead. try the graphics card and cpu in another system in the cmos reset fails. if they both work in another system sounds like your mothboards screwed.

UPDATE: Hey guys! Thanks for all the help; I got it to work!

For those who might have the same problem, I took out the heatsink and cleaned it for like 10 minutes! and then I cleaned the processor and then I reseated the RAM.

After that I started and it worked!
