No one seems to care about any other names except CHIPS?

I am not a CHIPS person as I cannot predict the trend of chips in the future so I stick with what I know well for the moment (So I can sleep at night!!!)

Just sold an LLL .us yesterday on Afternic for $1,000 after listing here and no one wants to offer even $50 but I can sleep at night with my non chips.

Beside with chips crazy pricing it would take a lot of money to invest so I stay out for now.

I must be one of the few 4l chip people that are still holding and acknowledge it's been a pretty awful investment in recent months. I think if one's honest it's hard to see it any other way.

Yes of course those that bought in 6 months ago and more are sitting pretty for now, but anyone else who bought in more recent times, either needs to be patient or have solid cash flow to take them through this quiet period. Then there's Chinese New Year coming up, so you can pretty much discount the next month as well IMO. That's a long time to hang around and hope for a real upswing to cash in.

As an analyst for a UK hedge fund, I find it laughable how people are expecting Chips to keep growing exponentially with a Chinese market which is the most dangerous and unstable of all financial platforms...

There's still live argument about how Chinese stock market correlated with Chinese domain market and until you can show some data to prove you warning I will take as just an opinion, and every person on this forum has one. You may be right, or may be wrong, hedge fund analyst is not a domain guru

I couldn't find any LLLL.com domains..CHIP or Non-CHIP for hand registration. However acquired some through snapnames and namejet.

What about LLLN.com domains? Do you guys think they will take off especially CHIP domains like LLL8.COM domains and LLL1.COM domains?

A lot of people doesn't use the adress bar in the browser to type domain, most use Google to find what they search...

Awful advise! If the company is successful, but feels it has to spend much more on promotion, loses clients/orders to .com, now it will have to spend much more to get .com, and, worse, if .com is not for sale, because a competitor got it, it might spend huge amount of money rebranding...

But a lot of people do use direct typing. And a lot of companies would not like to bet their business on getting all the traffic from search and social. There is a third component: direct contact with clients/visitors via advertising and/or word of mouth. And that is the component where the importance of a great domain is the most. And memorability of a good name is always important for even search traffic and social, because you want them to revisit your website not search again and find your competitors this time...

Hi djum, Thank you for your insight. When will LLLN.com or NLLL.com appreciate? What is the current market price and how do you foresee the valuation of these domains?

You can check market prices at namebio.

I don't see much sales for this domains, unless it's a dictionary word, maybe because namebio starts tracking price only when it goes over $100.

Bought 1 4L chip for $1100 few months back, got lucky and sold for $1950 last week. I had no idea what I was doing or where prices would go when I bought. The whole experience made me very uncomfortable even though it worked out.

I'm not chinese so the chips don't matter that much to me. I don't have the cash to get into the LLLL.com chips either. I did buy 19 LLLL.coms for cheap more than 5 yrs ago and glad that I did.
I think I have at least 2 chips because the chinese contact me everyday trying to buy them from me. I'm not selling anything right specially my LLLL.coms. The price of LLL will continue to climb and that will drag all 4L up with them.

Personally I would rather have a LLLL that is pronounceable than a chip.
I think having any 4L.com that you can acquire on the cheap is a great idea right now. CHIP or nonCHIP.
There are several other .coms sectors that are being very overlooked and that is where the ROI is at.
I'm not going to say what area I'm investing in right now because that's like printing out the treasure map.
The LLLL.com boat is sailing fast, actually more like a speed boat hauling chips butt over the ocean to Beijing.

How can you figure out which of these domains actually mean something in Chinese and which ones are just as garbled in Chinese as they are in English? There are 160,000 combinations of letters (20^4). Certainly, they can't all have magical meaning or even make sense in any language.

Maybe I'm just a confused noob but I have a hard time understanding a floor or safety net to keep the value for 160,000 garbled character domains so high. Could this be a big bubble market? Or are there actually 160,000 potential Chinese end users for all of these combinations that are willing to pay such high premiums and want to actually use the domains for something other than just trading them?
