Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

Share your thoughts please

Non-chip LLLL.coms are looking pretty good at the very least. :D

Sedo has three 4L dot com ending within 11 hrs, currently at $2800, $2,700, $2601 and $2450. Of course those auctions started last week.

So far, Quite a few 5L dot com and 4L dot org scheduled direct auctions for coming week. That's $59 each for mere mortals.

Only approximately 53 4L dot com currently scheduled or running.

Just want to mention something here about chaomi - Not to be confused with the current drop -

What i have noticed a lot of people look at chaomi with a glimpse only and think prices have risen or dropped by the day. But if they monitor closely each sale on choami they will realize most of the time is some people sell in bulk therefore when alot of non chip domains goes tracked with V in the middle for example it is normal to see that the price is lower. on the other side when a lot of sales goes in a row like A+CCC triple premium then they think the price is up again. imo its the value of each domain and letter combinations that matter. thats why i keep a close eye on each sale.

He has made numerous predictions / suggestions that have come to fruition. I would never have thought about buying a .cc domain name if it were not for him. In fact I remember people laughing when he first started mentioning them. Now look at their success.

Yup!

@djum I would not be surprised at all if you had XXX XXX pretty soon :) (Don't forget your bro Nat when you do!)

Hey guys, what I really do not fully get yet is:

1 Why do chinese not buy more in their own extension .cn for their 4L abbrevations etc?
2 Why do they want to use hard to remember abbreviations? (From my perspective)
3 Why are 160 000 chips considered rare? Compared to what?

Let`s start with these! :)

Technically every domain is rare. There can only be one of each!!

Here we go courtesy of the great Chinamobi (article)
government is pushing for startup companies and internet related. Some money is moving from real estate to domains (real estate)

I bought a 4N.org over a year ago. I was the only bidder in the auction and got it for reg-fee.

I have listed it for sale for over a year but i did not get a single inquiry so far.

The .org extension is totally dead in China. .org doesn't have any meaning in China.

The recent 4L .org buyout makes little sense from a chinese perspective.

Not sure if we are going to get back to $3K levels by end of year. Most likely early next year.

may be this is not right place to discuss this on here but there sure chance is current #4letter #domain #market grate example of Monkey Business http://goo.gl/5MYNHV

Once upon a time... in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20 for a monkey. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each, and the supply of monkeys became so small that it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35, and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

They never saw the man nor his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere!

Now you have a better understanding of how the LLLL.com market works. !!

Someone probably should have told them that because they sure registered a lot of them. Also backordering everything.

I'm going to attempt to answer some these:

1, Many Chinese companies have international aspirations. After many years of double digit economic growth, some of the smaller companies think they are ready to expand in the west. They don't want to be associated as the "Chinese Only" company, hence, .com and .net.

2, The abbreviations are not hard to remember to the Chinese, so many assumed they are great for international branding. But at least they are easier to type on a mobile phone.

I agree with your comment but you forgot to point out recent government move to free the sector or give more freedom to corporation is spiking this buy out too.
In china everything is government and it seems to me they are in fever of this freedom and many government employeed had invested good in domains that what i have heard from my chinese friend, can you talk more about them and shed light on that factor.
Recent slow motion is good for 4L chips wait for other buyout after all chips buyout happen under $3k next jump will be big.

I think you're right. Lots of dispersion of funds right now into other buyouts. 100,000 regs a day in 5L.com, for example, last 5 days. Once those are gone, and 4L.org, 4L.com will get another boost.

Its like we own 4l but we think oh if i had 3l would be better and safe.
So when they going to sale their 7N and 5L names they will use that fund to buy more 4L and if more fund buy 3L for future safety.
What we have seen in domain business you sale crap make money take your money out and buy good premium name and hold long term, chinese will going to do same thing and after few year later big money going to flow in premium name( for them it is only 3l 4n 4l and 5n right now is premium )
For western world premium is like many new keywords name which are never going to get buy out by chiense because they have their own keyword in .cn and .com. cn with different meaning of western keyword names, but they will going to buy our short name for sure, since they can use that short name and able to make it meaning ful to their chinese customers and for world market.
