Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

I've had many 4Ls for 10 years would like it actually to go back down to 800 a chip , that would be awesome
Yes, even to sell many CHIPS for $3K would not make sense for most western friendly letters, but then many of us had nonsense letters, and if you could get $2-3K for those on a bulk sale for Q Z J X why not...

It is much like the stock market, the filling of gaps, shaking weak shares loose, new buyers coming in, and looking for a new high, has all the same patterns.

These things have gone from penny stocks, to being priced like blue chip, it really depends of the Chinese wish to come in at a $2.5K floor now.

I agree with you but the domain universe has changed drastically since the 4L "penny stock" days. When ever there is a "Sherpa" talking about the rarity of domain names they now include the 4L.com names in that conversation not just the 2N, 2L, 3N, 3L and 4N etc. IMO... this is important. In the big picture the 4L.com domain names are scarce considering the amount of those looking for them. IMO the most powerful group of investors (Chinese) to ever enter this market have just started making the waves they are going to create. If you feel the amount of Chinese investors will grow in the next year then it is very difficult to believe the price of Chips are going anywhere but up. Will this happen every day like it has lately of course not. Now if you think the Chinese investors are going to just turn around and exit then you better sell quick but before you do that think about how they came to the idea of investing in domain names. In my experience in doing business with the Chinese they spend a lot of time learning about and preparing for an investment but when they decide to do so they go after that investment like no other nation in the world.

As I mentioned before IMO this is more of a panic after all look at the title of this thread. "Chinese LLLL.com bubble!?" If you just found this thread would think it was a positive thread or a negative thread?

Here is the latest from chaomi.cc http://www.chaomi.cc/ now ask yourself does that look like a crash of the Chinese domain market?

Cheers

Personally from the looks of it, looks like many western investors who had been timing the top, got caught off guard, and like trying to catch a falling knife, they are letting some of their hold inventory loose into the marketplace, could be good for the overall step up.

Just as yourself, if you let all 1K of your chips for sale at the same time, we would see a decrease in the average price sold, just like an insider holder, they have to slowly do scheduled selling into the buying to not upset the market flow of things.

wwwweb I think you are a smart guy but I disagree with that statement and here is why. Adam Dicker sold his portfolio months ago... I'm the one who bought it. That did not effect the market at all. In fact a couple of weeks later the market had almost doubled. Frank Schilling sold 2000 4L.com names this last weekend for $1.5K apiece. There is not one person alive who follows this industry that does not know about that sale. Did the market drop to $1.5K per name? Everyone knows the answer is not even close. Chips are still selling for consistently 40% more than that. Why because they were gobbled up like it was nothing. If you watched the latest Domain Sherpa show Frank talked about a realestate developer friend of his. For those who missed it I would invest 30 minutes of your time and watch it.

Cheers

Frank Schilling has made it public that the buyer of his 2K portfolio was a Chinese buyer. I think that answers the question. We westerners are a small part of the purchases made IMO.

Some excellent points raised about 4L.com. Everyone is talking about this. As someone who bought the last batch in 2007, I can tell you this is a big deal for me. I've waited long. I can wait longer... May the whole world talk about 4L.com!

Chaomi.cc has become more popular here in the west but it has been known by the Chinese investors since its inception. When you log on to their website what is the first niche they report the latest sales from? For a country that loves numeric domains like the Chinese wouldn't you think it would be different than 4L.com's? This is another indication IMO of the value of Chips.

I've shared that before

Chinese Numeric and Acronym Boom or Bubble?

They think: 4L's had been undervalue, but now it is OK... For 5L's "pure speculation"

It sounds like years ago, but really they started just in August 2015.

I realize that... I think a large percentage of the west are still not aware of Chaomi.cc. I say this because I shared the site with someone this week who has been in the domain world for years and he was not aware of it.

@djum you are not the average guy. I would bet you were one of first to know about this website. I'm sure you were aware of it before I was :xf.smile:

I appreciate the compliment but I do not look at myself as an expert. I'm simply sharing my experiences and thoughts with the community.

Now I would say guys like Giuseppe Graziano and Shane Cultra are experts. There are many more but these two have made post on NP that is why I mention them. I spent a month working with Giuseppe as a mentor to me before I bought my first 4L domain name. Giuseppe not only understands and can evaluate domain names but he is an expert on the business side of this as well which is just as if not more important IMO. Shane Cultra was one of the few who was suggesting the value of 4L.com domain names before they were even part of any conversation. He has made numerous predictions / suggestions that have come to fruition. I would never have thought about buying a .cc domain name if it were not for him. In fact I remember people laughing when he first started mentioning them. Now look at their success. The question you should ask your self is why was he right? Why did Shane have this opinion?

Western 4L.com domains... I have been buying them all along and continue to.

Please do not follow or make any investments based on what I am doing or my opinion like Shane says "do your own research and make your own decisions".
