.tv Checking your new .TV site's ranking

I see it consistently from site to site that my .TV sites will rank on Yahoo for certain phrases but ranking on Google for anything with search volume seems to be difficult. Regardless, one can use Google Adwords Keyword Tool to look for phrases with search volume and at least check with Yahoo first to see where your site ranks for certain longer-tail terms. Hopefully in time the site can rank at Google as well. It just seems to be far easier at Yahoo. So with my PembrokePines.tv site launched in February we already rank as follows at Yahoo...

Pembroke Pines parks p. 1
Pembroke Pines restaurants p. 2
Pembroke Pines mall p. 1
CB Smith Park Pembroke Pines p. 1

Fairly simply, google takes longevity into account as well.

Although sites like PeopleOfWalmart.com can take off like a bat out of hell, in google it doesn't earn a high ranking unless it is very unique, or has plenty of backlinks and history. (people of walmart is not mine by the way, just an example of social networking gone mad)
