I have an offer (mid xxx$) for this domain. I don't really want to sell it.
I own avenuedeschampselysees.mobi and champs-elysees.mobi too.
What do you think about sell it and the price offer ?
I sold rodeodrive.mobi last week for more than $3000, do you think champselysees.mobi are as valued as rodeodrive.mobi ?

thanks for your toughts.

I think these kind of names have a lot of potential and I wouldn't sell it for mid xxx$

Shoppingstreets, etc. will be hot in the future! So at least $3000,-- for ChampsElysees

:hi:

Has the sale of rodeodrive.mobi now been completed (and who was the Buyer)? :gl: :talk:

I've been to Le Paris, offer it to these folks in an End user "Quick Sale" IMHO: :talk:

All the best!

Only my opinion, but I think RodeoDrive.mobi is worth much more than this domain.

But, if you don't want to sell, don't sell. I would think this name should be worth around $1,000 at this point, probably a lot more if you hold....

and now $1000 offer by sedo. I think I will put it tomorrow on sedo auction

Congratulations--I see you have 2 bidders, which will hopefully drive up the price. My guess would be that rodeodrive would be the more valuable of the two, but I'm from the US and you might find french buyers that are willing to pay a comparable amount. Whatever happens, you have recently sold 2 mobis for $4,000++, whcih is great news no matter how you look at it. If you were the original owner, you are looking at a ROI of 3,500%+ in less than a year--try getting that in the stock market!!

Posting about the auction here and on other boards should help. You may also want to do some more targeted marketing, if you haven't already--a Google search for champs elysees in the URL generates more than 60,000 hits. Skim the first few pages and pick some of the for-profit sites that you could e-mail directly with a link to the auction (similar to what Jeff recommended above).

Best of luck,

MM

hi,
it doesn't compare to rodeodrive imo.
i'm not biased as i'm a Brit & had a home in France. I love France & love the culture.
However, in domaining terms, France is smallfry & are still way behind fellow countries in Europe tbh re: internet
I think low $xxx is all you can expect for now, anything more is a bonus
Think how low countries have been selling for & even europe?!
However, IF you have an enduser interested, obviously a different kettle of fish, but to have 2? which you need for an auction, i can't see it myself

You must be kidding...

The Champs Elysees is more famous worldwide than Rodeo Drive, and it too is loaded with shopping, hotels, and restaurants, albeit maybe*** less extravagant on the whole than RD.

Its value as a domain name has nothing to do with French domaining. It's all about tourism: Overture for "Champs Elysees" is significantly higher in the U.S. alone than it is in France. And while OVT for "Rodeo Drive" is higher here in the U.S., it's 5 times lower in your own U.K. than for "Champs Elysees" -- and I didn't check all over, but I'd be willing to bet that would be the general trend in other non-U.S. countries as well.

Not that that guarantees how well it does in auction...but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least another bidder get in the action toward the end.

EDIT: ***Or maybe not...see post immediately after this.

Well I could not resist , and only 99 cents to reg it. After reading this I regged Causewaybay.info. My first info domain. Ya just never know???

Every other variation of popular world streets is taken.I was surprised this one was still avail.

New Yorkโ€™s Fifth Avenue, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong and the Champs Elysรฉes are the worldโ€™s most expensive shopping streets.

In second position in the world, after New York's Fifth Avenue, is Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, which in 2005 has leapfrogged Paris' Avenue des Champs Elysรฉes. "Retail rents in Hong Kong have increased sharply on the back of an improved Asia economy, an influx of tourists from the rest of China, as well as recovery in visitor numbers from Europe and North America," said James Fisher, General Manager of Cushman & Wakefield's Hong Kong office.

Eixample

Eixample, for instance, is the most famous relevant area of Barcelona and this city is becoming far popular day after day. Just take a look at the City's visitors rating.

good luck.

no. i'm not kidding. as much as i hate to admit it, 90% of the money buying domains is in the US
I am well travelled in France & know it's importance, but like i say look how little country .mobis have gone for???
resellers will give little for it, if its an enduser, then you may be in luck.
best thing is to hold these type of mobis, in fact holding all my best ones

Can anyone shed some light as to how this happens?

Bidder 3 - May/08/07 02:49 PM EST - 1,050 USD

Bidder 1 - May/07/07 02:17 PM EST - 1,000 USD

What happened to bidder #2??

I frequently see the number of bids listed on the auction page not match up to the number shown on the overall auction list. Maybe they record bids that are for the same as an already existing bid, but don't show the bidder?

And Arnie: Yes, I would actually agree that holding in any of those cases might pay off better down the road. I was just arguing more in favor of ChampsElysees.mobi's comparative value.

QUOTE]

SEDO tell me they cancelled the bid for a reason they can't tell me. There is probably a problem with bidder or the bidder asked to cancel his bid.

It will be interesting to say the least.

Yes, both famous avenues, streets, what ever you want to call it...

But I have to give the edge to RodeoDrive.mobi for one main reason...

DAMN, I can spell that one!
