From 1st Dec, ICANN ammended rules.

Can anyone tell us what are the key points we have to consider as a domainer?

Like, Can we push the domain within 60 days?

Please share your insights.

Thanks

So what are we going to have to do - give the buyer a password to the registration details, and let him update the info, and change the dns? Then after 60 days, he can move the name.

I believe a push under a 60day lock is possible

Does anyone know what's new with the 60 day lock? I'd like to know as well.
I thought you had to wait 60 says to push from one registrar to another... but not within the same registrar.
Is OP saying this is no longer the case?

I would like to sell some recently purchased hand-regged domains without restrictions...
PS: I use Namecheap.

The domain MUST be older than 60 days.

Actually, I have a question about transfer fees.
If I sell my domain from Namecheap to someone at, say, GoDaddy... who typically pays the transfer fee?
The seller or buyer?

from Namecheap help article:
If I am going to transfer a domain from Namecheap, is there an additional fee?
No, you would need to pay the fee at the "Gaining" (new) registrar.

"you" the seller? :-/

1st case, It's the buyer, if you sold the name and transfer it to buyer's registrar...

2nd case, If you transfer it by yourself, means you're not sold the name, but just transfer it to other registrar, it's you, yes..it's you who pay the transfer fee.

So, in this namecheap article, it's 2nd case that occurs..
The price of the fee is depends on the accepting registrar, not the sending registrar....

Some registrars will allow to opt out the 60 day transfer lock.

Just minor point of clarification, it isn't a transfer fee, but the gaining registrar may/will expect you to extend the registration period for an extra year.

When exactly ? After a free PUSH or only (likenow) after a transfer from registrar ?

A push is a transfer between accounts with the same registrar. A pull is a transfer between different registrars.

I think within same registrar, you dont have to wait 60 days. it can be immediately.

But for different registrars, you need to hold 60 days.

Am I right?

Umm, not exactly. A push means the current owner 'pushes' it to the new owner at the same registrar...a pull means the soon to be owner 'pulls' the domain from the current owner at the same registrar.
