.us Can I own a .US

Hi Guys,

I have just had an offer on sedo accepted on a .US domain name. I do not live in the USA so could this prove to be a problem? can you only own a .US if you are in fact in the USA?

Thanks for your reply, I am going to get the name over to namecheap.com. I don't have a registered business in the USA will this cause a problem?

Let me just get this clear, you are not a US resident and do not have a business presence in the US; however, you have made an offer on a domain and it has been accepted?

While I am not sure if this is kosher, you may want to become a member or DNOA. They allow you to use a USA address for domain privacy. This probably would be enough to get you by the requirement.

if you own a hosting company where ever in the world but if the server(s) is in the us that would qualify you..
