Can anyone help revive "Ian the iPod"?

Ok, I was kinda a bit stupid and gave my wee ipod a 35oc wash in the washing machine for 30 mins. He came out smelling nice, but he doesnt turn on anymore and he's making funny noises :hehe:

ive searched online and basically it comes up with a sad face when i try and switch it on. A forum thread said i connect it to Itunes and try and restore it.
When I tried to do this, it came up with

"Error 1418"

Have I lost my beloved Ian? :hearts:

having no ipod myself i just can guess, the unhappy face could mean that your ipod cannot find it's boot device(like on the computer the harddrive)

www.ifixit.com is a diy website for apple devices, maybe you have more luck there

Have you let your iPod dry? Is it still under warranty?

Yeah, this happened a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was knackered so didnt really try to fix it till now!

I bought it from Amazon last Christmas (Jan 07) - ill have to check up on that!
