.mobi Buying Mobi in a dip at reasonable prices...

For all my dislike of mTLD...one always has to consider the value of any commodity. In the past mobi's were overvalued and not worth the investment in comparison to other extensions.

For example...because of the mobi craze I caught some great deals on .com's and .net's. LLL.us names have also gone done imho for the same reason. A LOT of domainer capital went into mobi. That left those holding the other extensions little choice but to sell cheaper or hold. I held. I also bought.

Now that mobi appears to have fallen off the high horse I am hoping greatly to see some realistic prices on names good for development. mobi parking is worthless and even development isn't gonna be a big winner for some time. The past 6 months I have seen a few reasonable names but priced way out of proportion to return. ROI (return on investment) is important to me.

I hope to start seeing some decent names for $25-$250 now that I might pick up for development. Yes...I could have registered names 6 months ago probably but imho..I didn't want to get caught up in a hype frenzy and find that I spent $1k on registration fees to end up with 2-3 good names. I would rather wait...pay a few hundred and get the quality names I want now. The market seems to have been shaken out and it's still relaxing imho.

It should be an interesting summer.

I also want to encourage those holding mobi domains to consider reasonable prices if you do want to sell. If you get a PM asking about keyword.mobi don't reply with inflated $x,xxx prices that you know it's not worth. Consider a REASONABLE price please. Something that makes you money...and gives the buyer a chance to make money. That's a natural market.

Forget buying in the dip. I just put in 3 offers on LLL mobis. I got 2 counters at $1000 and one at $60,000. Way out of my range. People simply will not sell cheap until we see where mobi in going.

I was going for some forex LLL .mobi's but only managed to get two, JPY.mobi (Japanese Yen) For low $XXXX and INR.mobi (Indian Rand) for mid $XXX. But if i want anymore it's gonna cost me a great deal! So i'm staying put with them for a while to see how it goes!

I think what's not understood is that LLL's are one of the starting points imho for extension valuation. It's very simple to begin there. Yes no one is selling their LLL.mobi's YET but I believe as the market stabilizes that we will. Those with 10+ LLL's may decide to unload one or two at reasonable prices. Many domainers live by SALES...no sales from sedo or afternic means you have to find a way to move it selling wholesale. That's a market and I look forward to mobi being normalized.

I searched some mobis lately on Sedo. I usually offer exactly the desired price set by the owners. And then they countered with 15x to 20x higher than the desired price. Owhh, I hate this.

Btw, I want to buy LLL .mobi with letter X in the middle and contain only one X. If you have this type of mobi, PM me.
