question Buying First Domain: Protection?

ls it worth buying privacy or privacy/business protection through GoDaddy when registering your own domain name (as in, johnsmith.com or patrickgordon.com)?

l'm going to be using this domain mainly to showcase my portfolio.

I have never bought privacy. If you are selling you want to be found as easily as possible. If it was a personal domain NOT used for business, then yes I would go with privacy.

There are a lot of providers who offer free privacy that you can turn on or off at will. Personally I only use these providers as most are cheaper, offer better domain management and it's not godaddy.
