Hia, I want to protect a domain using Registerfly's whois protection service, but when I have the domain & the protection in the cart it asks for the information I want to put into the whois info, and dosen't allow me to use the protection.

Now, can I purchace the whois protection first, and then just keep it idle in my account and then purchace the domain after, and apply the whois protection then?

My concern is because someone notified me that if I do not apply the whois protection on/during registration the information could be cached and someone might be able to find it! :(

Thanks
Tom

Ok, sorry, update people - lol:

I have come to the checkout, and I have the domain and the protection in the shopping cart. When it tells me to put in my domain information there is a checkbox at the bottom asking if I want to do whois protection. Now, if I check this (with protection already in my shopping cart) does it use that protection? Will that be ok?

Thanks
Tom

You can add the whois protection and domain name to your cart and checkout. If you opt for the "Add whois protection" option on the confirmation page it will be enabled otherwise just go to www.protectfly.com to enable the service.

Also keep in mind that you can move the whois protection around from name to name, by deactivating it then reactivating. You can also buy them in advance, without domains, so you have a stock on hand.

Hehe, yeah, it will work as 'regfly' said. You are covered. :)

Their system is nice, and very convenient. I've used it for a long time. Current I have about 25-30 whois protect credits sitting there, from past sold domains. :)

One thing I dont like about RegisterFlys whois guard. It doesnt tell you how many you have and how long until it expires. At NameCheap you see how many you got and when each one will expire.

John, it tells you how many you got.

It also tells you how many you are using -VS- how many you purchased. It doesn't show the date though.
