In a number of incidents during outbound, I have realized that sometimes, the buyer does not have an idea and thinks that they have to replace their parent domain if they purchase your domain.

This may not be the case. Maybe your intention is that the buyer uses the name as an add-on and not as a replacement to their existing domain. Because if they think like this, they will get defensive and not buy the domain name at all.

How do you ensure to educate the buyer through your outbound, so they are not confused?

It's the same "confusion" as when you introduce an attractive, single woman to married man.
Some will "think they have to replace", some will think about an "add-on", and some, probably a huge majority, will "get defensive and not get acquainted at all".

Just include in your letter " you can use this domain as an add-on domain or redirect it to your current website." 👌

If they don't want to replace their domain with what you're offering, then you're definitely peddling crap to them, sorry.
The point is, they should realize they want yours instead of theirs. If they have a better domain, you shouldn't outbound to them, period.

    Agreed.

    (y) "Would you like to upgrade your-domain.com to yourdomain.com?"
    (y) "Would you like to upgrade yourdomain.net to yourdomain.com?"

    (n) "Would you like to purchase your-domain.com as an add-on to yourdomain.com?"
    (n) "Would you like to purchase yourdomain.net as an add-on to yourdomain.com?"

(y)(n) "Would you like to purchase yourproduct.com?"

Just to be clear, I never did outbound so these are not actual messages anyone should be sending, I just wanted to illustrate what would make sense for me if I was on the receiving end (and yes, I get mails like that every few days, and I never even once seen a better domain offered in these letters, and I do read them all).

    Seriously?
It's great that you are contributing to this forum, but this is getting ridiculous.

This guy joined the forum back in March, and started duplicating old threads/questions. Whatever the reasons, he is not here to educate himself, IMO.

And now it seems there are no more ideas to copy from, but the agenda is still there. Hence, such ridiculous topics.

    LOL :D
Ya. You need to be the second one, the 'add-on'

Didn't get that! How does that help?

    Fair point! Any other way.
Just suspecting if the education is actually required and does it lead to loss of sales.

If you look at the point, you may realize that the buyer may see the domain and even if they want to acquire the name, they may not want to replace their original name.
If they do not know that they can simply forward the domain name to their current website, they may not buy it!
It is this education I am talking about. Doesn't seem useless to me.

A lot of buyers add a domain name. I have sold names to agencies who may have clients, who might usethe name.
Sometimes, they use it for themselves. You see, even the buyer with better names buy!

I believe OP is keyword/content stuffing the forum for some reason.

Maybe trying to establish themselves as a recognizable authority, or boost the authority of the forum (idk why)?

Most of the posts are well written, but you will find them extremely redundant and unnecessary.

I think the end game is for OP to put links in their sig that will provide link juice from the forum. (that's my best guess)

Trying to educate random people about the value of domains and how to use them is pretty useless actually. So is this thread, and all 1000 of your other outbound related threads.

Your criticism is logical. Everyone hates spam, even the spammers, LOL!

We are planning on only one major outbound campaign for now. Not a spamming one. Physical snail mails to people already in the industry, especially those who are actively expanding, followed by calling those who respond.

How would you promote a domain if you had to put yourself in the shoes of spam-hating outbound newbies? Instead of quoting the negatives, please tell us about the acceptable options. Thank you.

Why do you spam the same message in every outbound thread?

Because the top contributor of threads for newbies this month says so and message isn't getting through. There have been a few subtle comments to slow down.

I became frustrated with outbound after having to convince active businesses to buy my example.com when they were using the equivalent example.biz, .io

I found more success taking a direct approach and being honest. For example, flat out telling them that .biz is unprofessional after they said they were not interested.

However, it seems in the vast majority of cases outbound domainers are simply offering trash domains.
