This is how you treat your guest shame on BUSH and his Party.
Bush versus Ahmadinejad
What happened in Columbia University was a disgrace to the so-called champion of the “freedom of expression”. The event and the hullabaloo in the media that followed the event, thanks to the overwhelming influence of the market forces and their cronies on the lives of American people, proved that American culture is assuming dangerously shameless colours with every passing day. CNN showed a young girl in bra and panty with “On Iran” written on it. That was the height of uncivilized behaviour.
A head of state is first invited and then introduced in perhaps the most uncivilized language ever used by a host for a guest. The ideal thing would have been to put the “hard” questions after the speech but there was a competition in outscoring one another to insult the guest. And the irony is that Ahmadinejad was given this treatment in Bush’s America that has beaten all the previous records of tyranny and oppression. Let us put forward some facts about Bush’s America and Ahmadinejad’s Iran:

1. No deaths of innocents can be attributed to President Ahmadunejad; President Bush is directly responsible for the deaths of at least one million
innocents. And the irony is that the man, Osama Ben Laden for whose supposed crimes it was done and his network are still alive and well.

2. Bush put Prize money on the heads of at least two states; no such heinous activity can be
attributed to Ahmadinejad.

3. Ahmadinjead was elected President by a much greater percentage of Iranian population
than was Bush by American people.

4. Ahmadinejad enjoys at least double the rate of popularity Bush enjoys at home. Even in
other countries, except America and its allies, Ahmadinejad is not half as hated a figure as
Bush. Ask the world population and much greater percentage will describe Bush as the
Evil and Devil than will Ahmadinejad. And of course, among Muslims of the world,
Ahmadinjead is arguable the most popular head of state.

5. From all aspects Iran is a much more peaceful and peace-loving country than America.
During last one century, Iran did not invade or occupy any country. The only war it fought
was against Iraq which was imposed on Iran, courtesy America

6. . In Iran, the crime rate including murders and rapes is not even one tenth of that in
America. In Iran, not as many women are raped in one year as are raped in one week in
America.

7. In Iran, hardly a few if any women are willingly or unwillingly thrown into the sex
market. In America, more than ten percent of women have at least once a while posed nude
for the commercial purposes.

8. Iran has not even a tenth of the rate of incidence America has of sex
transmitted disorders.

Everything contra-US is propaganda, everything pro-US patriotic, heroic and objective.

While Ahmadinejad might not be the new savior, he definitely is not as bad as is he always presented in the western media propaganda.

Ahmadinejad has more space and ammo to outmaneuver bush, and he' succesfully doing that. THe iraq war has the US way more tied up that it would want, and iran will eventually outmaneuver US in iraq. Its time for US to cut your losses...........

I'm definitely not the biggest fan of BUSH but if you honestly believe that Ahmadinejad is not seeking a nuclear weapon then you realy need to go check your head.
And I'm not saying that Iran doesn't have the right to own such a weapon.

Peddle your propoganda schlock somewhere else.

This nutcase has openly stated that Israel should be destroyed.

What do you think he would attempt to do if he had nuclear weapons?

And if this guy cannot answer difficult questions, maybe he shouldn't be the leader of anything.

Well, that must be because Iran doesn't have any homosexuals in their country.

Let's kick them all out and we too could be like wonderful, beautiful Iran!

Seriously...you can't be serious.

Many women choose to pose in magazines and America gives them the freedom to choose to do this if they wish to, the reason hardly any women do it in Iran is because they can't!.

Don't even get me started on the rape figures, how many women are raped by family members and can't report it?,because we all know what happens to them if they do.

I am not really supporting nuclear weapons in general, but apart that I'd agree with you on the rights matter, this thread doesnt seem to be primarily about nuclear weapons but rather about the attitude towards an official political guest.

If Bush were ever welcomed this way, it would have been a national outrage.

Expecting objectivity from someone who is using the term schlock in this context is probably too much.

And the US nutcase has openly attacked and invaded a country, executed its leader and killed thousands of people. So what is worse? Saying something or doing it?

Where do you have this exciting and new information from?

But they seem to be most welcome in the US too, if you look at certain sites .... http://www.seattlecatholic.com/article_20040720.html

This nutcase has openly stated that Israel should be destroyed.

Well the land was muslim land for hundreds of years, can you blame them?...I definately do not support destroying israel, but can understand why the muslim countries feel agrieved.

You need to pay attention to what people say and what people do. Even though Ahmadinejad says israel should be wiped off the map(which is a wild comment by a country leader), he knows iran gives the world the right to anhilate it if it drops a nuke on israel and tries to completely destroy it. We all would probably prefer a non-nuclear iran(and any new countries too!), but in a world where people are constantly under threat(like the middle east), the nuke gives priceless deterrence. Look at North Korea. NO serious military action over there, because everyone knows kim Jong Ill is sitting on a nuke, and if he's attacked, he basically has the right to use it. Iran wants that.

Iran doesnt have Nuke....Its just a political reason to blame them..
Iraq also didnt had any Nukes...

How come Israel has nukes and America is quite ?
They are after the muslims and nthing else....
Kill muslims...Kill muslims...Kill muslims....
They dont understand that Terrorists are not muslims....Al Qaeda are not muslims...

.... and according to so-called conspiracy theories - which are often simply baselessly ridiculed instead of seriously discussed - they were/are invented/supported/helped/whatever by US government near organisations.

Just have a look at Operation Northwoods for comparison to 9/11 conspiracy theories or possible foreknowledge of the first WTC bombings.

But I guess it will not need much time for someone to ridicule these statements.

neroux , Bin laden was trained and finacnce by the US in order to fight the USSR, who had invaded Afghanistan, as a proxy war. This is fact, However the US didnt train them to be terrorists against the US!

i am not a fan of bush, but i don't believe iran president is a saint neither. in my opinion all countries controlled directly by religion should be watched very closely.
in iran women don't have the same rights as men just read some books from women that survived iran way of justice on women, a well organized secret police surely controls the country, so i don't see how this country is better than usa. personally i like some kind of freedom, don't you?

A saint? Definitely not.

True, but religion is usually just an excuse.

That is true to some extent but often also exaggerated.

Just look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_women's_movement or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran#Culture
Women today compose more than half of the incoming classes for universities around the country and increasingly continue to play pivotal roles in society.

Definitely, but especially on this topic, the western countries are losing more and more every day.

maybe you are right, iran can not change from night to morning. but it is starting to make some small progress, i only hope it will change for the better. women in the past were extremely abused but economical social and political pressure are changing it slowly.
for west loosing freedom, it is some extent true i admit it, but we are living in times of instability if you did not notice, the balance of power is shifting constantly and who know what will happen in the future, so many players and so many variables.

But the same applies/applied to western countries. Please have a look at the two links as there is some good information. Unfortunately western people often have some pre-determined view which often do not really match reality.

Yes, there might or might not be reasons for some things but what remains is there are some processes going on in the US and Europe which were unthinkable 10 or 20 years ago and were always attributed to eastern countries.
