I decided to change it up and I recorded my first video for Zandibot. My video production skills need work, but if you guy love videos, I will continue learn more and provide you better production!

Today, I am covering the process I use to bulk forward all of my domain names to Afternic buy it now pages. This is a new approach for me in 2016 and I wanted to share the process with you as well.

What's the point of using nameserver.io when all registrars provide URL forwarding? It seems like an unnecessary step to take to forward a domain when you should know your registrar's control panel inside-and-out as this is where you basically keep your money. If you can update a nameserver, you surely can enable URL forwarding...

Do they accept : {DOMAIN} string in URL Forwarding?

Because changing nameservers in bulk is easy.
If you can't forward to a link with the {DOMAIN} parameter, it takes much more time to do it one-by-one with the accurate link.

Ah, my bad. I skimmed over nameserver.io and didn't realize that {DOMAIN} took the string of the requested domain (ie, testdomain.com) and added it to yourdomainstore.com/testdomain.com; that's pretty nifty. I assumed it was for your to put the domain in by creating a nameserver to yourdomainstore.com/testdomain.com.

Thanks

@David Walker Thanks for the info. is there any bulk forward in NameCheap??

Nameserver.io looks good in that {{DOMAIN}} will carry the domain name that the user went to over to the "forward"; no other service I know of does this.

So, by creating one nameserver that forwards to http://www.your-domain-name-landing-page.com/?the_specific_domain={{DOMAIN}} it will forward example-domain1.com to http://www.your-domain-name-landing-page.com/?the_specific_domain=example-domain1.com; example-domain2.com to http://www.your-domain-name-landing-page.com/?the_specific_domain=example-domain2.com; and so on. Then, the nameservers can be updated in bulk as opposed to updating each forward address one by one.

I didn't understand this until it was pointed out to me by @DoumB21. I believed that I had to enter each domain into the {{DOMAIN}} example on nameserver.io's website when creating a new nameserver which would be an additional step beyond enabling URL forwarding if that were the case.

as said before, bodis dns is another option for controling where your domains redirect after. they accept DOMAIN_NAME string for all reidrects.

From BODIS I also suppose it is possible to track the traffic from their interface.

nope that's a technical impossibility. for any place.
if you do not land on their sale lander, and just bypass their site to go elsewhere, they cannot track it. I already asked.

however, th egood news is.. bodis is the only park company around that lets you input your google analytic tracking# into their options.. so u get stats that way.
it's new feature.

I just point all my rgistrars dns to bodis once.. and leave it there forever. then control all traffic from there.. with one click, in 1 second, and with mega simple fast and friendly UI. gotta love bodis

There are so many important questions and issues being raised in this thread.

Ali and Mike thanks so much for this NameServers.io - absolutely awesome.

If I were a big domain company I would read this thread. We have to now simply get the data that tells us which platform converts the best for landers.

Interesting that parking is now just now routinely overlooked.

The problem with testing and say "Lean Domaining" is ... say aDomainName.com sells. Chalk success. How do we know the same name would not have sold on other possible platforms if it were on it at that time?

fyi - I added {{SLD}} and {{TLD}} tokens to nameserver.io, in case you want to break up the domain name in your redirect (e.g. so you can do something like http://park.io/domain/nameserver-io).

Can you do that for thousands of domain names at once and have them point to their corresponding Afternic links: www.afternic.com/domain/{{domain}}

? I can't bulk forward URL's to differing, and individual URL's, at least not any way that I am aware of.

From a technical perspective, I find it abusive to use Nameservers for the job. This is directly loading the .io zone.
Anything from a TXT to a CNAME in Nameserver.io servers can be used for the same task...

Yes, that's exactly right. Glad it is useful - another user suggested it. These tokens are what make nameserver.io valuable, so if anyone wants any others, let me know
Nice. This gives me an idea for the next video ;)

I've got nameservers set up for Godaddy auctions if anyone wants to use. I'm thinking of opening it up as a free service.

Set:
a.estuary.net
b.estuary.net

To try it. I'm pretty sure if your listed on afternic, you will also show up on auctions.

I thought it might be handy if people were running Godaddy auctions a lot.

A quick caution about entering domains in bulk (as Afternic claims to let you do)....

YOU HAVE LESS THAN AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE IT TIMES OUT ON YOU!! :xf.frown:

>:(Sorry if I'm screaming, but I'm upset that I just lost all my work. I entered about twenty domains and in the pricing screen, went back and forth between Namebio.com and Afternic while doing my price research. When I hit submit - took me to the login page and then back to old list like I never touched it today! And I'll have to do the research again because I'll never remember all those prices. Arghhhh!!!

I will use a spreadsheet from now on. Learned my lesson and want to pass it on to others, though I'm sure I'm probably the only dumb one. :-$

What will be the difference if I will use these nameservers instead of the ones given by nameserver.io

NS1.AFTERNIC.COM
NS2.AFTERNIC.COM

I can bulk edit nameservers of all my domains to the ones mentioned above too and I believe they will also forward my domain to afternic lander page.

And what are these nameservers for?

AN.1.NAMESERVER.IO
AN.2.NAMESERVER.IO

If you use Afternic nameservers, I think they might show ads.

Okay.. I will check all 3 nameservers on my domains.. those which give ads must be:
NS1.AFTERNIC.COM
NS2.AFTERNIC.COM

But they will also give revenue.. I think.

@DoumB21 Did you manage to redirect to Afternic while still knowing where the traffic is coming from ?

No, but I did not try to find a solution for that problem yet.
For the moment I have no idea what the traffic is on my domains.
