Brokered a six figure domain today. Half a year into domaining and I'm pumped.

Well it seems like @NamePros @Mod Team Alfa @Mod Team Bravo have to decide is this rule real or not, I know Dosebuy sale real because I saw the documentation but for future threads where someone might not be real, does 2.6 get enforced or is it just sitting there?

    Here is the rule

Rule 2.6. Do not create a thread solely for the purpose of reporting a sale unless at least the item's full name (e.g., domain name or business name) and exact sale price are shared within it. The exception to this rule is showcase threads where everyone can share partial details about their sales (e.g., "the name starts with insurance and sold for $XX,XXX") in the same thread (not limited to 1 showcase thread but rule 1.13 applies).

Congrats @Dosebuy for the brokered sale!

I agree with the people saying this thread is pointless. Newbie mistake I guess, you got over excited and posted a sale under NDA, serious brokers don't do that.

Without the name and the price this is just a bragging rights drama.

I think there is value that many are overlooking. That is the message that, perhaps rarely, but at least occasionally, even someone very new to the domain world can effectively broker a high-value sale. To be honest, I personally would not have thought it was possible, so it has changed my view.

Reading between the lines, I think that a secondary important message is how social media can be helpful in initiating a lead. We have enough to know which two social media were involved, I think. Those who follow @Dosebuy on social media can learn some about his unique style.

Perhaps our response depends on how we view this. I do not view the OP as a sales report (I do realize it is in domain buying and selling) but rather as an example that even those new to domaining may be considered as brokers.

Congrats again @Dosebuy. I love the enthusiasm and innovation you, and a number of other newcomers, bring to the domain world.

    Bob

Raymond, thank you for bringing the information about Rule 2.6 (I had it somewhere at the back of my mind, but I was not sure). I also apologize for saying you were complaining the most, as when I recall it now, that was indeed not the case. That thread got so complex with all those edits/deletions/remarks/heat that I got a bit confused there. So my sincere apologies. Thank you! :)

When one uses the term "broker" "brokering" typical use indicates an outside party working for one of the parties of interest in a transaction. You do not "broker" your own transaction.

If you saw the thread from the beginning you would know his original title said SOLD and his explanation in opening post was brokered.

The rule states "solely for the purpose of reporting a sale."

We do not believe there is any ambiguity about what that means or why that rule is not applicable to this thread. The first post in this thread contains a lot of information and is not solely about the reporting of a sale. For example, he wrote: "Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game."

    We hope that helps.

Sounds good. He brokered a deal between two (probably unrelated parties) that sold a domain.

With the few names I broker my span is between 7%-20%. This one was at the lower end of that scale.

...and I'm very happy to see that "promotional" link! A promotion is always welcomed when it offers some good value.
