Hello.

Earlier had an appreciated thread about my first month in domaining in the beginner section.

https://www.namepros.com/threads/fi...-7-sales-sh-t-handregs-website-built.1147977/

But since I can't edit that post for some reason I might as well create a new one and update here.
I can today share the news that I brokered a six figure sale.

From day one I have wanted to share my journey in domaining. And I have in the Telegram Group "Domain Talk" shared alot of failed negotiations and stupid stuff I've done. But also some sales and overall impressions of the domaining industry. And now six months have gone by since I first started. And today I closed my first six figure deal. Its been under negotiation for three months. It's been a fun and nerve-wrecking negotiation. But today @Rob Monster contacted me and say the escrow is closed. Big ups to EPIK for making sure the transaction went smooth.
It's under NDA so can't share more details.
But if I can do this, anyone can, no matter what more experienced domainers say. You have to find your own beat. And fail all over again. There's been blogposts written about me where I have gotten pretty much slack and being called a troll by anonomous...trolls. As expected 😀.

However. Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game.

• Brokered a Six figure sale via EPIK
• Sold 20-ish domains with Blockchain.za.com being the highest for $1200.
• Sold Betting.cx and Gambling.cx via Sedo iGaming auction.
• Have two $800 sales (DigitalChoo.com and another NDA-one).
• Being interviewed in Morgan Lintons blog (where I earlier had been hammered in the comments of a blogpost).
• Getting the chance to broker FinanceME.com and Finance.me. Interest has been HIGH for those ones.

Please all my newbie homies, share your positive stories also, as I get pumped by reading good stuff from people in the same boat as me.

Thanks for reading (mods, move this to the right area if this is the wrong one).

Best Regards

/Dose

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
As for the haters in the thread who took issue with celebratory comments fro Dose, I can only offer encouragement and hope that you also get a 6 figure sale soon and that you use proceeds for good!

I can see no haters here...
just people who like to learn

and..please correct me if I'm wrong

he hasn't made a 6fig sale
he has sold somebody else's 6fig domain

to me that's not the same

He brought 6 figures of new liquidity into the domain industry from an end-user in Asia.

I call that a win.

You can call it whatever you want. :)

Keep smiling Frank. You are ranking threads all day long:

I'm not interested in ranking anything
I'm not promoting anything here

I'm just in a leisure mode
that's it

@JB Lions - Our policy on deal disclosure is to let the client lead. If they want to announce a sale, we'll attest to it. As you know by now, it is not our practice to kiss and tell when it comes to specifics. There is a time and a place for specifics. That said, I think there is more generic value in disclosing what works. The good news is about guys like @Dosebuy is that he tries stuff and shares openly. That is a positive.
I like this policy.

Years ago, it really bothered me when companies would report sales transacted on their platform without getting permission from both parties. It was especially bothersome when the platform was used simply for escrow and had nothing to do with putting the deal together but reported it as if the deal was brokered there.

That said, a buyer or seller who wants or needs privacy on a deal should proactively make sure the platform/service does not report the sale. Some have a policy of not reporting any sales (like Epik and Escrow.com) but others may report sales to DNJournal and NameBio or passively report them when sharing comparable sales.

Also, congratulations to the thread starter on brokering a nice deal. Domain investing is not an easy business, and it's nice to see relatively new entrants finding some success.

Surely, the community can find a bit of joy in celebrating a newbie getting his first 6 figure deal as a broker.

Well said @Rob Monster. I think that is essence of this thread.

And I respectfully disagree with those who said we learned nothing. True we don't know the name and precise price, but partly due to the great questions asked by people like @UmerK and answered by @Dosebuy here, I think we have learned several transferable things about process.

We know the sale is authenticated, the category (two word), the region of the buyer, how long it took, how the first contact was made, how it closed, etc.

I think the most important thing we learned was that even someone new to industry can broker a big sale. I bet some thought that was impossible.

I do share the joy of success by such an enthusiastic and innovative newcomer. I think we all should. I sold $77 in my first year. He has done all this in 6 months!!! How not to be impressed?

So I have one question for @Dosebuy, did you use your old hockey picture at any point in the negotiations so they knew who they were dealing with? :xf.grin:

Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Bob

well to me, that's trolling a thread

Not trolling. Actually, I think the goat was just floating.

While I may not always appreciate your content, nor your sentiment, I do appreciate your engagement. FWIW, I do try to always evaluate content on its own merit regardless of the author.

Hugs from Seattle.

@Dosebuy I would advise you to ignore the negative vibes.

This thread reminds me of the first sale I shared as well - few years have passed by but people have remained same. I was told outbound was SPAM, it was beginner's luck and what not.

Thanks Bob! Very humbled by your kind words. I'm a fan of your work.

And to others not knowing what Bob is talking about regarding hockey.
Here is my hockey-bio.

It's okey. Thanks for the encouragement though! Appreciate it!

Yes. Dose deserves props for being authentic and for surrounding himself with loyal advocates. For those who engage him on Telegram or elsewhere, his enthusiasm is hard to ignore.

Specific to this transaction topic, anyone who does use Epik for escrow can count on us to attest to the validity of their transaction, with or without without full disclosure.

The broker proceeds were split out from the sale proceeds.I know many escrow transactions where brokers get screwed on fees. We are able to protect the brokers in such cases. That can be quite helpful.

Also, this buyer paid via USD wire, but some proceeds are distributed in crypto. If we have crypto on hand, we don't charge a fee to convert to crypto. If we don't have enough crypto on hand, there are options.

As for the haters in the thread who took issue with celebratory comments fro Dose, I can only offer encouragement and hope that you also get a 6 figure sale soon and that you use proceeds for good!
sigghh was really going to be done with this thread, but....

Give it a rest with the haters angle.......

Questioning someone or something that you, the OP or anyone else don't agree with is not hating it is just a difference of opinion...

People need to grow up - all of us are allowed to not agree, question and have an opinion on what is put in front of us and not just follow like sheep in a herd.....

I like you Rob, you bring a lot to the industry, this forum and run a fantastic business but on this topic we will have to agree to disagree...

If not clear, I am all for healthy debate. I just did not like seeing folks piss on Dosebuy's parade. For the rest I will happily participate in discussion and debate.

I think the industry has some rising optimism about scaling what works, and I certainly would encourage folks to come forward with news of things that worked.

If someone is dumb enough to present false information, i have no doubt that this forum will expose that nonsense in short order.

Few months ago when I mentioned "large new gTLD sale" in one of my threads, without giving any more details, there was an avalanche of negative comments about it, and I guess even some new Namepros rule was introduced - @equity78 will now more about it (which one it is), as he was one of those who complained the most about lack of transparency from my side :)

So I am not complaining here, but same rules should be valid for everyone. If you speak about XXX XXX sale, you need to prove it (at least this is my current understanding).

Or are there some exceptions for certain NP members?

Marek I did not complain the most that's untrue, in your thread I don't think I posted anything except .live can be solid with intuitive keywords. If you recall that thread got real nasty @Paul Buonopane reprimanded @JB Lions and @xynames in part some of that was comments that were mentioned about @Bob Hawkes It was the post in Namepros comments where I commented but did not complain or try to get your post closed, edited or deleted.

Here is the rule

Rule 2.6. Do not create a thread solely for the purpose of reporting a sale unless at least the item's full name (e.g., domain name or business name) and exact sale price are shared within it. The exception to this rule is showcase threads where everyone can share partial details about their sales (e.g., "the name starts with insurance and sold for $XX,XXX") in the same thread (not limited to 1 showcase thread but rule 1.13 applies).

IMO, it's another useless thread where the domain isn't disclosed.
I wonder what's the use of sharing such half information which is not helpful in any way... at least to me.

I see nobody pissing on anybody's success here at namepros at all

your sale is great @Dosebuy congrats again
all the best to you

it's simply not helping anybody
it's lacking the kind of name
it's lacking the kind of money
it's lacking the process

I couldn't learn anything about how to clone that success

so again congrats

but other than learn @Dosebuy is a clever guy, personally I can't get anything out of it

except:
some people are real p*ssys

I have understood a couple of pages ago you personally didnt get much help from the thread.
Im gonna put that notification up on my fridge to remind myself of that so I will not forget it if I ever come to think about this sale again (that meant tons for me and therefore wanted to share).
"Remember Dose, Frank-Germany personally didnt get much help from the thread".

and use that to promote their own stuff

I congrat you cordially to your success and wish you much more of it
didn't mean to discredit you at all in any way
