I have a terrible feeling that the .tv forum will completely wither away unless the marketplace for tv names returns.

More .tv names are selling with better mainstream listing exposure in the Make Offer / Fixed Price / Bargain bin / External / & CCTLD marketplaces. The previous exclusive .tv marketplace wasn't very active and was lucky to have 1 sale every 2 to 4 months generate from it.

I can understand the disorientation to change and even the fear of not being seen. However, it seems to do .tv better with more mainstream eyeballs on the .tv names for sale. before, people rarely ventured to look in the .tv marketplace to know what was selling, now in the mainstream they see the .tv's being sold daily / weekly.

It's really not as negative as some may initially think. Besides, with .tv having an exclusive marketplace of its own, we then have to be fair and allow all the other cctld exclusive marketplace requests to be created, which would just saturate the marketplace even more (E.G. forums for .tv / .us / .ru / .eu / .in / .us / .de / .it / .mx / etc. etc. etc.).

A marketplace with only 1 thread or post per week / month and only 1% to 3% of the viewers that's in the mainstream marketplace forums doesn't seem very beneficial to either the sellers or buyers. So far we have seen what seems to be an increase in .tv sales from mainstream listings compared to what the old secluded .tv forum was doing. I would suggest trying it out a while and monitoring it a bit to see if you find the same influx in sales (bearing in mind if it never sold in the old .tv forum & doesn't sell in mainstream either you really haven't lost anything anyways, so it's worth a shot to try for a while).

.TV Marketplace

I would like to start a petition to have the .tv marketplace forum brought back. :cy:

I'm looking to buy a couple decent .tv domains and it got me thinking that it would really be beneficial to many to have a devoted .tv marketplace forum. Probably half the ccTLD marketplace posts are .tv domains, and those posts in and of themselves would provide for a busier forum than many of the current marketplace forums. For example the High Priced, VIP, IDN, Traffic, and .mobi forums are all but dead... I say if there's enough demand for a .mobi marketplace, there should be a .tv marketplace. :guilty:

Perhaps there wasn't enough demand in past years but I don't think I'm alone when I say I believe things are picking up.

...Yeah,

I put one on the marketplace today and I felt like I was just putting a message in a bottle with little or no chance of even a view.

So, I along with you plead the case of a freed and liberated .tv marketplace...

I count 12 .TV sales threads out of 40.
& that's 12 sales threads in the past 3 weeks, a total of 4 a week or just over 1 every 2 days.

Not sure that justifies having its own section back to be honest? Just my opinion, of course :)

Please use the New Advanced Extension Search option for your .tv sales threads to help with exposure: http://www.namepros.com/namepros-in...-advanced-domain-extension-prefix-search.html

...it's just that scattering the respective .tv subforum to the four winds and breakin' 'em up (when they were perfectly centralized and not hurting or bothering anyone(presumably))for those interested in the extension was a foolhardy move and did not consider the members that invest in the extension.

If it was done purposely for the .tv investors' inconvenience that would be childish and sophomoric, of course, so I am assuming that it was just a case of very poor judgement and lack of concern for those interested in the extension itself...
