17,144 names as of this writing. Looks like an additional 100 names per day is correct. Obviously making the first 5 pages or so is very important now as is a great logo that stands out.

Hi guys,

I sold my 9th name a few days ago. It was regged back in April 2015. I have 9 sales since Sept 2014 with 76 published names, most of which were added to the marketplace last summer. I've been selling almost monthly and I share some names with my business partner in another profile. We have around 4 or 5 sales from his profile if I remember correctly. Some names that were rejected by BrandBucket were sold in BrandRoot, and the contrary. I managed to sell other names via Sedo. Most of my sold names were hand-regged after research, some were discovered in GD close-out lists and others were caught via Pheenix.

No matter the number of names currently published on BrandBucket, if a buyer knows what he wants, he will do the search, browse a few pages with names related to his keywords, find and buy your name. Also, half of the names I've sold have a slightly different logo now.

Regards,
dpan

Thanks for this post. I think your logos-as a whole-are the very best ive seen for one account on BrandBucket-they look great. May I ask about how many names you had to submit to get those 76 names you have on BB published? Thank you.

I'm not sure what others here think of this idea but if BB had some sort of way for sellers to "push" a name into another BB account, just as you can with GoDaddy free of charge, if they decide to sell it to another BB member for $50 or $100 or whatever to reduce costs this would be great for all parties concerned. BB would retain the listing and sellers can reduce some costs as would the potential buyers knowing they have an approved name now in their BB portfolio. Some sellers are simply better at picking names than others and have a much higher approval rate. In other words create a fluid trading market for these names with and between BB sellers. Perhaps you can already do this-if so please comment.

No problem - Just mail them and they will push it to another account.

My acceptance rate on BrandBucket sucks a little bit. I had to post around 240 names to have 76 published names and a few other in my business partner's profile. But the good thing is that most of the rejected names were accepted by BrandRoot and Namerific, where I have around 68 names. So I have about 144 published names from the 240 total names posted to BrandBucket.

I've sold names on BrandRoot and Namerific that were rejected by BrandBucket, like I N N E R K E Y, Q O D E C O and V O N E X O. BrandRoot and BrandBucket have different tastes and rules when it comes to rating brand names. You should not give up if they do not accept a brand name that you really really like. Someone else may like it and you can try to contact via e-mail potential end-users or to create an auction and see how it goes. Most of the rejected names were hand-registered. You can easily sell them for registration fee, if not more. Personally I've kept a small number of them for web development projects.

Just wanted to give a quick update - I've halted submitting new domains as I can't submit until I finish the current queue... but currently deciding if I want to pay the $10/domain yet or not.

Current acceptance rate is now 27.1% (64 out of 236). As usual surprised by some that were rejected (like Hunteo dot com), but their loss, not mine. 48 published, 1 queued for publishing, 2 pending logos, and 13 waiting on me. Also, another rejected domain in agreement for sale ($x,xxx) that should be closing in the next couple days and another rejected domain being discussed with a seller.

Doron-If I recall correctly you own about 350 "brandables" at renewal fess of about $4000 per year. The average "investor" here will NEVER sell these made up names outside of BB or BR on a consistent basis-i'm not talking about you-a professional-im talking about the average person here. It simply won't happen. I challenge anyone that's not a full time professional on this thread to list consistent sales ( not one or two offs) of made up words or "investments" as they've been called here that were not sold by BB or one of it's competitors and to list how many names they had to buy and throw away to get those names that sold. You'll then have the real ROI. To call these names "investments" is absurd.

While, I think I know what you are saying and to some degree think it is true, I think you are generalizing it far too much. If you are buying some of the low quality domains passed off as brandables on some of the marketplaces (even BB), then yes, I agree. But if you stay true to some core domaining principles such that you are buying a domain - even a brandable - that someone might type in or search for when trying to brand their company, then you can still sell them. This year for brandable sales I am up to 3 sales, 1 pending sale, and 1 in discussion - all pure brandables that were rejected from BB. In fact 4 of them were made up words of at least 6 letters, 1 was a 2 word brandable. When it comes to domains, I've sold them since 2003, but I don't do it as a full time professional. I am software engineer/developer that does this as a hobby on the side to complement my business and acquire development domains and sell unused domains. The point being is that if the domains aren't "random" brandables, I think it is very possible. In fact, brandables isn't really a new thing. I've seen them sold since I first started. It's just people tended to focus on only super high quality in the past and with the burst in startups has come a demand for more - even if lower quality at times - domains. Again, IMHO and experience, YMMV.

Hope this helps!

Svede-question please because you're a developer and Im not. What do you think of REAL "category killer" one word domains re Insurance Flowers etc but in an odd extension but that Google treats like .com? Brandable or can they be developed? Thanks.

We presently have 11 names waiting on Logos. That said the published ones look pretty good.

I'm happy to report my first sale on BB:

J O B O D O

This is obviously a strong keyword, and a widely accepted suffix which is easy to pronounce and spell.

* The sale occurred at 3,637 listed-days.

Submited my 10 first names and got only Sinula.com accepted, didn't expect only 1 accepted to be honest.

Youยดre worth it B-), counting your posts and the rest of time you spend on putting names on BB you are one of the lucky ones now...

Thanks, Kickstart. It does seem like we had a flurry of reported sales over the past week or so, from a bunch of different BBers.

Michael had a boost of almost 200 names in a few days. Seems like he acquired another seller's account.

That's actually a good way to expand-they're already approved-logo etc-can't really blame him if he did buy someones account unless of course they automatically jump to the first page in front of everyone else.

sure, of course they're not amazing or something, but I still expected 2 or 3 accepted.
Jiory is a good name-just ask Julia to have it reconsidered-they will. Just pick one to "reconsider" they might take it after another look but see if they have sold anything like your name and just tell them-sometimes one slips through the cracks. Please let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the tip! Will try as soon as I can and update you. They don't have a livechat so I need to ask for Julia by mail, right?
