First off, please don't tell me what I should do. Make a suggestion if you want, but you haven't earned the right to tell me what to do.

Second, respect is earned. Did it ever occur to you that you don't have all the pieces of the puzzle here. So to assume you do, and then judge how someone else should behave is both arrogant and ignorant. Even worse, it makes you a fanboi.

Lastly, all I said was that it didn't seem wise to let someone with a vested interest in the outcome be the only investigator. That's common sense, and honestly if i was Margo, I would have insisted on that transparency, if it were my company. That isn't a reflection on Michael, its simply protecting your interest and allowing the process to remain objective.

The fact that I don't have all the pieces of the puzzle is exactly why I choose not to accuse someone. I would rather assume good in someone than bad if I don't know the whole story. Is that such horrible behavior? Does that make me a fanboi? Absolutely not - its called basic respect for another Human being. Anyone who has read my posts here knows that I have positive and negative things to say about BB so I am definitely not saying they didn't do wrong - but I'm certainly not going to make an accusation or paint it to look like something underhanded is going on without more knowledge.

EDIT: to be clear, if someone has a pattern and history of doing wrong, I could see you being skeptical, but nobody has presented such with Michael and I've only ever known him to be honest and fair in my dealings with him. If you have proof otherwise, please share. Just because he has a vested interest doesn't turn him into another person that gives clearance to make accusations.

And quite frankly, this matter is between him and BB - we have no right to demand the information about what is going on. He shared it in case it might be useful to others, but that doesn't mean he has to tell everything; to say otherwise would contradict what you said about telling people what to do.

First of all please consider chilling out-he wasn't even talking to you. Secondly the guy brought it up here and made it everyone's business. We'd all be remiss not to question what happened.

This isn't a 1-on-1 conversation. I also wasn't talking to you, so why are you responding to me....

And I'm all for wanting more details, but the way some of it was painted is just ridiculous and unfair IMHO..

I'm responding to you because you posted "We have no right etc" in your little rant and "we" implies us all-so guess what-we do have a right as long as we are paying listing fees to and have a financial interest in our published names on BB.

This is a personal matter between him and BB - we don't have a right to know the details. We definitely have an interest and I certainly want to know the facts. My problem is in the hypocrisy of the post for telling someone they can't tell you what to do while supporting the demand from another to tell them something. That was the focus of what I was saying. I am not implying that we don't care or have an interest - but that isn't our matter. That was his domain and his usage of the BB service. I have no problem with asking for it, but getting up in arms about him not sharing it and then telling others they can't tell you what to do....

It sounds like you think paying listing fees gives me a right to know about the support tickets of other members.... just don't get that...

How do you guys feel about submitting both singular and plural versions if you have them both?

Will a BB buyer generally see it as a plus to be able to collect both? Or might it be strategic to hold on to one of them?

And how has such "double" submissions worked for you? Any BB preferences noticed?

I find that in most brandable cases the singular is far better (with exceptions of course). If you have both, I would submit the singular as the primary and include the plural as an "additional" domain if the singular is approved. No point in having the plural of a brandable that will most likely be TMed... Might as well make it a plus. If it costs you a lot to also get the plural, I wouldn't do it in most cases unless really good... IMHO.

Hope this helps!

Def. depends on the word if you own Diamond.com vs Diamonds obviously the plural sounds better -just think of how you'd speak it. Flight.com vs Flights.com etc.

This one is more of a "saying" and even though it works in singular, the plural packs more punch. As in like "wuthering heights".

Thanks for the input!

For the most part, the singular will be the one with the best chance to sell. If you have another extension or the plural, you can put that into the listing. I've sold a couple of names that have had multiple extensions. If a buyer is on the edge, I can see this helping them make a purchase.

With all due respect, I dont really care how you would handle it. Besides, read it again... I didn't say anyone did anything. I said (paraphrase) it was unwise to let anyone with a vested interest investigate. i.e don't let the wolf investigate the missing hen. I stand by it. If you want to give someone the benefit of the doubt while you investigate, and they clean you out in the meantime, by all means do. I prefer to get in, asses the worst case scenario and mitigate it. If it turns out there is no damage, great. We are all big boys and this is just business. Personally, I trust nobody. Every day lots of kids get hurt because they played with big boys and got that scratchy sand in the panties feeling. I suggest using your ignore button more aggressively.

Already submitted both, do you suggest a combined listing when that is the better option?

EDIT: As in, do you suggest that when both singular and plural are submitted or do I need to bring it up myself with support?

Yeah, I would consider a combined listing unless it is a high 4 or 5 figure name. In that case the plural can probably stand on its own.

I would personally just see what happens. If they think they are both strong enough to sell separately, then go for it! I would imagine that they would see both submissions and only approve both if they were appropriate to do so.

Agreed. There are definitely situations for that - I was just thinking more on the average brandables that we see.

Hope this helps!

I was told that they -BB-take "strong keywords" in certain other extensions .me being one of them. I gave them
Stockmarkets.me They turned it down-i'm not sure I can find a stronger single keyword for worldwide markets without paying through the nose. My point is they can be very arbitrary. I couldn't believe they turned it down after what they told me BEFORE I submitted this name-thus the reason i'm so critical here at times. They told me one thing and did another. I should add that this was before Michael Krell joined as a director.

Sold another brand. I will let you guys know the name after the sale is finalized.

Congratulations to all the sellers who have sold names recently. Looks like sales are picking up :)

Michael Krell-those of us that use Twitter here everyday for business would probably like to be able to "tweet" our BB listings in an easy and effective way-right now you have to add #startups #tech etc ect each and every time you tweet a name-Im not sure anyone with 200 names on BB will do this by hand each time-can't those # be added to listings so with one hit of the button it reaches #startups # branding etc? I sent out a couple this morning and added those # by hand and both were instantly "favored" multiple times. Thank you
