I have been getting BSoD screens for awhile now and they have been making my computer restart. I found a way to shut off the auto-restart and for awhile, it was working fine, except every 1 out of 3 times the computer started, it blue screened. It just now started to blue screen (without restarting) when the computer is on but not being used for about 5-10 minutes (or more, not exactly sure of the timespan).

(If this is the wrong spot to put this, please move it, I couldn't find anything to do with the subject)

Does anyone know what might be causing it and what I can do to fix it?
I can provide more info if needed.

I am using Windows Vista Home Edition I believe.

Yeah, I had just installed 4 major updates because I just turned Auto-update back on...
Let's see how it works...

For some reason this morning, it said my Windows Vista trial was up, and my computer did not stop bluescreening. It was doing it all morning and processes were stopping, and anything else you would expect. After the trial screen came up and I closed it, later it bluescreened and it came up saying that the version of Windows Vista I am using is not genuine. It told me to put in an activation key and I found it on the side but it wouldn't work once I typed it in. It said I could access the computer with limited functionality, basically the internet, and that is the only working. (it was FireFox)

Any help?

Your best bet would be to contact Microsoft. As you have a genuine key they have to help. When on also mention the blue screens.

I had some legal trouble with an apparently non-legal product that I did not know was in my computer, and that is why Microsoft shut my computer down (or disabled Vista) and I am assuming they refused to help me with the bluescreens. I am going to be using my other computer for internet soon even though that one crashes as well, but I had found out that Windows Media Player and Microsoft Paint were causing those errors on that computer.
