What is the Best dvd/cd recorder for vista

hi guys
Last year when i first switched to vista i installed nero as a cd/dvd burner on my vista after installing it my computer crashed forever and the blue screen of death ruled it
i want to install another program that will not destroy my computer again
Which one is good, free and wont crash my computer again ?
