The new weekly domain sales Report is out at DNJournal.com and 2011 has a new king of the hill - or should we say queen of the hill? GamesForGirls.com soared to the top of our Year To Date leader board, as well as this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart, after changing hands in a blockbuster deal at Sedo. 4 ccTLDs (led by a German IDN) also made this week’s elite list along with 3 non .com gTLDs. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2011/20110302.htm

I notice auction results from Snapnames are still listed, as though they are credible. Even after the largest shill-bidding scandal was revealed, Snapnames' results are included along with Sedo's and Afternic's results.

Snapnames admitted to massive domain auction fraud, blaming one lone employee. They should be shunned, but instead are held in high regard by DNJournal.com, which speaks volumes about DNJournal's anxiety to post as many bloated auction results as possible. Obviously, the character and ethics of the auctioneer aren't extremely important to RJ.

GamesForGirls.com sold for $500,000

I almost fainted when I saw this, is there a chance that this is not real? I'll be honest I cannot believe it.

I would like to know what the minimum bid was for this particular domain and was it something special they did to be able to get such a high bid?

The keyphrase 'games for girls' gets over 1,800,000 EXACT monthly google searches. About 3 times the searches 'money' gets, about 8 times the searches 'video games' gets, etc.

That's why. It is a huge term. With some investment in development and some good serp placement, the new owner can make an absolute killing from this one.

When they were selling the domain did they mention this information in the auction? About it getting 1.8 million exact monthly google searches?
