.biz names great for developing a site
Hi ripley,
onlinecasino.biz $7,500 (this weeks dnj).
You have to remember that the .biz extension was released at a time that the business community was lobbying very strongly against "cybersquatting" - in some cases this just referred to domaining - and the lack of quality domains for their web sites.
The policy of .biz acively tries to limit resale. Under ".biz frequently asked questions" at the registry site - Neulevel.biz - "Registering a domain name solely for the purposes of (1) selling, trading or leasing the domain name for compensation, or (2) the unsolicited offering to sell, trade or lease the domain name for compensation does not constitute a "bona fide business or commercial use" of that domain name." In result .biz has a lower amount of registrations as resellers are discouraged from purchasing. Number of registrations in an extension is one determinate of how domainers value an extension. In result there are fewer sales for the dot.biz aftermarket, but this does not decrease quality and suitability of the domain for developing a site.:tu:
Of course I'm biased if you see my signature below. I am completing a Masters in Computer Science and intend to develop Trade.biz and think that with some advertising, .biz domains are good value.
