On Monday, GoDaddy announced it is acquiring Neustar’s domain name registry business and renaming it GoDaddy Registry. After long resisting vertical integration, GoDaddy decided it was time to own a registry business. GoDaddy will now be both the wholesaler and retailer when a Neustar domain is registered at GoDaddy. Now how is that going to effect .biz domains?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
My identical twin is also a domainer. :)

We both heavily invested in .DEV when it started -- and I had category killers off the bat.
Unfortunately, I could not afford the 811$ premium renewals and had to drop them recently. I still own quite a lot of great .DEV domains. Despite the lack of market interest which was unanticipated to either of us.

But yes! We have similar tastes. It's quite surprising really.

It's why we started to operate under NameShiba. We wanted to share our experiences and have a guide for new people starting out.
sooooooooooooooo coooooooooooooool! Wish you guys success.(y)

Can anyone explain the extra $10,000 apparently added on this domain.

I'm assuming if this sold the buyer would have to pay an extra 10,000 on top of original price.

Does that mean I should raise my LL.biz domain?

If the seller set an original price of $10,000, this would then equate to over $20,000

I'm asking as this is my name.
The renewal price shows 20.54, only the first reg would be 10000, I think so, same as .top.

Random letter 4Ls .biz all now seem to be 89.25.

I feel like they’re going to make renewals very high... special for LL...

Premiums are Not allowed in .biz agreement

they circumvent rule by make first year 10k

Then charge normal renewal price thereafter

Are they saleable at all? An end customer may not want to spend so much money? ? ?

Oh you’re def not going to sell a .biz to an end user anytime soon. That ship has sailed

they circumvent the rule by just making Y1 10k

theirs no cap on .biz domains

theirs no cap on .biz domains

Premium renewal (charge different renewal) not allowed, according to .biz registry deal

“The Registry Operator must have uniform pricing for renewals of domain name.”

“determining Renewal price, the price for each, must be identical price all other renew at time”

Somehow, .biz registry agreement does not forbid different prices in initial registration.

So yes, it’s a poorly worded agreement that prohibits prem renewals, but somehow allows egregious uncapped prices Year-1 registration

We shall see my friend... they can do whatever they want apparently...

The most important thing is the trust building in the extension. Otherwise investors turn away

I can't imagine what compelled you to register unseen.biz. Was it the searches? Estibot values it at $30. I would ask your registrar, Epik, about that link.

Every extensions have chance to have good profits if the combination is right, for example: Casino.Shop (reserved by registry), lol.

I still own Owner.biz

I mean come on -- business owner.
Owner. Business

Am I crazy? Or would I have a category killer in .BIZ?

I believe everyone has their own niche because every once you choose a domain that means...that's you! You just have to find another you in the world.:xf.rolleyes: and sell to them.

I have an identical twin in real life.

I am forever a clone.

I found me already -- but selling to my family at premium end-user prices is no es bueno.
Unless I look like this:

wow, that's cool:jawdrop:
Have you ever tried registering domain names with your twin brother during landrush to see if it result the same?

i started domaining 5-6 years ago.. so like many new domainers i thought biz was good investment.. in fact i was excited to see so many good 1word biz names everywhere... so since my start i spent whole bunch of money on regging them... even renewed a bunch too lol

lucky for me, I also had a few sales.. i think they just were still bit more common say 4 yrs ago... so im still glad i escaped the biz nightmare NOT in the red overall. though overall my profit was not worth the time spent on it.. but.. its all part of learning process. and lessons and courses are never free in life.

at this stage i cannot say 100% sure whats happening at name.com.. i just happen to always use them for opening domains of interest in new tabs, from expireddomains.net.. cause its easier to bookmark those later.

The order fails after paypal authorization.

What's clear to me by looking at .biz sales history on namebio is that you'd better list it on SEDO. :xf.wink:

I only hold one I picked up at auction before I focused on .com... Sushi.biz

Glad I saw this. I was about to let my only .biz not renew. Now, for the low reg fee, I'll go ahead and keep it for a year and see what happens. It's smokepot.biz. Just need a few more states to go all recreational on us, and I think I might have something here.

I am of the same consensus that when marijuana is legalized across the United States. Marijuana-related names will see a huge bump in value.

I mean..

Woof.

Do hope you're right...I've a couple of others. Reeferburgers.com... a good pot recipe website I think, as well as flyinghighrecipes.com and highflyingrecipes.com. I'm hoping that after this viral crisis there could be more and more wanting to just legalize the stiff and be done with it, and then use it to take what's coming, when it's time to pay the piper, in stride...)

yesterday ai.biz dropped but was reserved by the registry. I've never seen that happen with .biz before. Not sure if its related or not, seems too soon.
Last week I have purchased several .biz, domains. My info shows up on Godaddy whois but not on the iccan whois. ??? Also godaddy won't allow me to list it for sale. ???
