On Monday, GoDaddy announced it is acquiring Neustar’s domain name registry business and renaming it GoDaddy Registry. After long resisting vertical integration, GoDaddy decided it was time to own a registry business. GoDaddy will now be both the wholesaler and retailer when a Neustar domain is registered at GoDaddy. Now how is that going to effect .biz domains?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I only have T1.BIZ domain. But who's going to buy it? It doesn't matter if the registry don't releasing dropping LL.BIZ domains. Scarcity isn't going to make them any more valuable. There isn't a market for them :( The damage is already complete as far as .BIZ domains are concerned. It would need a miracle to change the perception. IMHO.

yesterday ai.biz dropped but was reserved by the registry. I've never seen that happen with .biz before. Not sure if its related or not, seems too soon.

They have been collecting 2 LL .biz for along time now... Ive been tracking them for years.

This is one of my fav gtlds.

But you know at least that you have a premium domain. This is an advantage... as it says so nicely: we have to wait and watch the market ...

just because a register says it’s a premium doesn’t mean shit.... if no one in the real world wants the domain it’s not a premium...

Are all LL.biz have been registered?

All 2L dropping are reserved by the registry?

I have ww.biz and couple of other 1 word biz domains. No interest from endusers. Also my renewal is $13.33

Relates to premium .biz recently implemented, Grego. Dont drop your .biz, if it’s premium .biz, cost 10K year-1 and back normal renew Y2-10

“In past few months expired and deleted .biz showed as unavailable for registration. Whois: “Reserved” mostly 3 letter and one word .biz”

Nothing has changed under Godaddy

Does that mean I should raise my LL.biz domain?
That would be wise. or pull it until.... Values on godaddy are are already up.

Are they saleable at all? An end customer may not want to spend so much money? ? ?

Exactly my thinking, has this made a hard to sell domain even more unsellable.

I can't imagine what compelled you to register unseen.biz. Was it the searches? Estibot values it at $30. I would ask your registrar, Epik, about that link.

I brought it when I first restarted domain buying. We all make mistakes early on :xf.grin:

Every extensions have chance to have good profits if the combination is right, for example: Casino.Shop (reserved by registry), lol.
There will always be only one

Show.biz

i first noticed biz reserving domains for themselves few months ago.

maybe its best that way.. at least domainers will not spend money on nearly impossible to sell tld.

i sitll check daily expired .biz names among the lists of few other tlds i check... or keywords... so I know exactly what drops now.. what was dropping for months or years.. that alone says a lot about where this tld is and where its going. even xyz doesn't offer such a good selection of expired 1word domains... on the scale of popularity.. and yet nobody even bothrs to pick those up. so yes, let biz registry reserve it all if they want. its a deadend for us.

you probly wont ever get an interest from end users... maybe just other domain investors. As of right now renewals are cheap but the cap is off now.

When there are some "good" sales with this extension again, it can be could become attractive for domainers and domain investors. But now so many other extensions...

well.. unlike .co and their premium prices... biz won't be selling many names for sure.

I still own Owner.biz

I mean come on -- business owner.
Owner. Business
Business Owner

Am I crazy? Or would I have a category killer in .BIZ?
I believe everyone has their own niche because every once you choose a domain that means...that's you! You just have to find another you in the world.:xf.rolleyes: and sell to them.

I have an identical twin in real life.

I am forever a clone.

I found me already -- but selling to my family at premium end-user prices is no es bueno.
Unless I look like this:

wow, that's cool:jawdrop:
Have you ever tried registering domain names with your twin brother during landrush to see if it result the same?
