From April 2017 i started my domaining journey and i must admit i did few big mistakes :

1. First one was rejecting an offer of $ 2500 on my LeLx.com domain.

2. But the biggest mistake i did was rejecting a bitcoin for 2 word .org domain before few months , that i bought from here for $ 25.

3. Try to be too greedy i lost many end users

Now i want advice from you all, what's a best thing i should do. At that time because i have less knowledge about Bit coins, i rejected Bit coin.

But i think there is something that i am lacking of which does'nt allowed me to sell those domain.

Kindly Help

Thanks

I think it all comes down to your current situation. If you need the cash, and someone is willing to give you some, take it. If you don't, and your gut is telling you something, then go with your gut!
Also, making mistakes is one of the best things than can happen to you. How else are you going to REALLY learn...Embrace it, write it down so you don't forget, chug a bottle of cold water, and move on!

Everybody makes mistakes. Learn from them and move on. I turned down 2000 bitcoins once. Nobody can see the future, we just make the best decisions we can, and if it doesn't work out then so be it.
Ouch isn't the word here :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Great thread. My biggest mistake was registering 8 .in domains for € 30 each just to find out I could register elsewhere for € 7,50. € 180 down the drain.

You are a really lucky guy,
If THAT was your biggest mistake

So, the fact is - we need to know marketing and sales techniques first, and we can sell any domain at a high price.

Is that correct, guys?

#1 could have been worse. When was that offer made?

But yeah, #2 must kinda suck right now sorry haha

First offer was also before few months. And i got lot of offers on this domain but $ 2500 was highest. It was also sold on Sedo but buyer failed to pay.

Yes 2nd was is equivalent to crime

1. bring back 1st avatar
2. making money from money
1x $2500, buy 200 .com's = 1x $10k (at least)
3. move on

it is hard to know what is a " fair / reasonable " offer vs expecting " too much ".

Time and trial and error ( and better access to comps ) help with pricing and sales / purchase prices.
Exactly. The crux of domaining, but therein also lies the solution.

you got your lesson, that was great experience, better to experience it now with xxxx$ range than having it later on higher range

I take it you purchased on the secondary market. seeing the original reg of 2007. and by the way IMO it's probably good enough to attract another offer - it's certainly short and memorable enough.

ps if you insert an 'E' as the second from last letter, I wonder if that was your enquirer ?

insert 'e' at the stroke point LeL-x.com.

I'm just being cautious, probably should have PM'd you

We all make mistakes, it's part of being human, we just learn from them and move on. :xf.smile:

... bitcoin always comes up seems like .. kept for 3 years.. sold 2 months before the major up-curve...
typical end-user offers of 500 - 1k, counter.. they disappear..

funny scenario just yesterday (to add to the me, buyer offer scenarios... I think that should be a thread of its own :) . no domain details needed, just how it went).

Outbound..:

Me: asking for $2500
Buyer: most is $200 that I'm willing to spend
Me: (after a few day)... make it at least $500 to make it respectable (renewals....)
Buyer: How do I know it's legit
Me: Give all the info to check
Buyer: There's so many companies using these keywords that they would pay through their teeth for it, I find it peculiar that your offering at this price. Sorry.

The deal fell through hahaha... all kinds of people we deal with..

Another went from $1200 to $1900 no problems..

@Isac please feel free to send me the domain name you got offered 1 Bitcoin for.
Try to adjust your mindset, you might get offered much more in the future because you stayed patient.

Also had a domain I got offered a good price for, I declined and the waiting paid out :)

Good luck & please tell me the name.

Wow. That's impressive. What were other figures offered over that year-long period? Was 125k the figure you valued it at and you were just waiting for the buyer to reach that figure or did you just sense you could get a lot more out of the buyer?.

A late congratulations! Very impressive negotiation.

I guess this sale guarantees that your domaining will stay profitable for a long time?!

me: asking price is 399
buyer: we can make instant payment 250
me: ok 250
after 6 days no payment
me: hello, when can I expect payment?
buyer: we can only pay 100 for this domain
me: 199 is the lowest I can go
buyer: good luck with your domain
me: :punch:

Should be in jail ;)
