Anybody else noticed the significant bidding of two particular names at Bido? They seem to be bidding aggressively in many auctions and seem to account for most of the action these days.

Just wondering if anybody has closed a sale with them?

I have had previous Bido sales with both of them (dozens of sales with one in particular). They are legitimate as far as I am concerned.

Excellent. Just seemed odd that they were the only two in every auction with bids.

Good for Bido to have active buyers for a change!

calulator.net for $1k+ seemed odd to me.

Yes, this one seems odd as well.

Over $1K for a typo.

calulater.net for $1k+ seemed odd to me.

Doesn't make any sense to me.
It is a DOUBLE typo for calculator, and a dot.net to boot.
It's a single typo for CallUlater 'call u later', but callUlater.net, the proper spellling, is still available.
Fishy high bids on such a name. Could be just shill bidding arranged by owner, rather than dirty bids aka halvarez. Or the very very very outside chance someone who doesn't speak/spell English well thinks this is a great name...

I know what you mean...it definitely seems fishy, but those are two of the more active buyers at Bido over the last year. will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Bido is spamming the WHOIS database to day -- somthing only con artists do.

another thing they do is shill bidding.

Do you have any evidence to support your wild claim???? No, like i thought, you just made it up.

I also have made sales to these two bidders in particular. In fact, i've made over 10 sales to both of these bidders, who were buying domains last year at bido too. Some of my sales were in the hundreds. They are both fast to pay up and easy to communicate with in the transfer console.

One of the bidders has spent 10's of thousands over the last year or so if you do your research. In fact, he has spent some of the largest amounts.

What i don't understand is, why are you not selling your domains and taking advantage of a place that has some active investors?????

Just to circle this back to the original conversation and get back away from Bido accusations, it seems there are plenty who have bought from these two so I appreciate the feedback.

I wouldn't have thought much about it except for teh calulator.net bidding war, which still doesn't make sense but maybe it has high PR or traffic or something. Anyways, I'd consider the discussion closed on the basis of my original observation.

Yes, I got 4 of their spam emails yesterday, as did another member on DNF.

The spam messages have an "opt out link" at the bottom, but when you click it you get a message saying you have to "become a member" in order to opt out.

Remember these are the same con artists that failed before because serious buyers won't deal with them because their entire business model was spamming.

I have sold to one of the buyers, seems crazy how the prices have escalated though!!

I was also surprised by seeing the same names in all the auctions, but, considering the good feedback posted here, they seem legitimate.

As for "calulator", I tend to consider it not a typo, but a brandable name that can stand for "calories calculator" - or at least that was my first thought when I saw it.
Just my 2 cents.

I just hope the name I have at Bido gives one of them the wink....

I agree, I think they are going for the brandable name for calories calculator also.

You see, not so strange after all.
