Hello all,

just want to spread my experiences with BIDO. Lately I had a domain in auction with $xxx highest bid but not met the reserve, as I checked few minutes before end of the auction.
Usually, Bido gives you the options to accept the highest bid, re-list or decide not to sell.
Next morning I found an email saying "your auction is now close with no bids"
I have submitted a ticked to find out, but not respond, until I have send another with my request of closing my account.

Their answer:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting support on that matter.

The bidder in that auction was paying for their won auctions,
so we had to retract these bids. Apologies for the inconvenience.

If we may assist with anything else please just let us know.

NOT THE FAULT OF BIDO, IMO. THEY CAN'T MAKE THE PERSON PAY...Non the less, it is bad anytime someone says they will buy something and doesn't. I had someone offer in a thread on dnforums 1.1 bitcoins for the purchase of an established website I am selling. After accepting their offer and trying to pm them they still will not respond.....

I had a domain name on auction at Bido which ended on November 30th. with no bids; but about two hours later there was an offer from teamupmedia to buy it. I accepted his second offer. I had to chase him for the payment; but he paid 10 days later.
Could it be that Bido retracted the bids because the buyer had previous outstanding payments to make? That's the way it looks from their reply.

Regards

Ralph.

IMO avoid yourself anger and do not use BIDO, the process is extremely slow unless you have money to list the domain right away but being sure the domain will sell for at least low xxx I would list it on Flippa and not in BIDO.

I have also had many non paying winners at bido (members here at namepros). I agree that support cannot do anything to make people pay for names they have bid on, but at the very least they could reply to a support ticket. And they could prevent non paying winner from bidding anymore. Support is nearly non existent. I have submitted countless tickets dating back months and have received only a couple replies.

How the heck can be sustained an auction site in which everyone does whatever they want? I mean, is not there a rating system to know who are serious buyers and who are crappy buyers. I had a bad impression from the site since day one, sixth sense perhapst but the site did not gave me a good impression and now I confirm why.

I guess I should say that I have also experienced the same thing at sedo as of late. Someone making an offer on a name, having that offer accepted...then nothing. Having names that are in auction end and then no payment. Support also not helpful at sedo when this happens. Basically you are then stuck for at least 3 weeks, many times longer and nothing can be done. Finally you have to demand sale be canceled.

Bido doesn't even have a trader rating ? Surprising.

Yes they do.
I like bido the interface is simple and easy to use. I have used bido as an escrow service too and everything went so smooth.

I am a fan of bido, because there are some great names in auction and not many buyers, get names for great prices comparable to sedo or godaddy auction. FYI the same "non-payment" happens with any auction site.

The Bido customer support is full of $hit. They respond to only they want to. They screwed up and they know it, but they got no balls to admit it. I have deleted all domains off the site, even the pending auction.

No actually esc means nothing these days. At least for the past 6 months or so. I have not gotten replies to tickets or escalating. And I have submitted many tickets. Also, the rating (stars next to buyers profile) means little.

The problem with bido is that they do not make buyers pay according to the rules. If someone doesn't pay, the let them continue to bid and be a member. That is unacceptable in my book. If I bid on something, I pay for it NOW. If I "screw" up and bid on something by mistake (because I am not paying attention)....I pay for it. And I learn to pay attention next time. But apparently others do not function that way.

Taking 10 days or more to pay small low dollar transactions indicates that perhaps you should not be bidding.

The only thing I like about them is their nice 4 letter domain they have, it is a pity.

Brilliant statements ! That's certainly how things should be. I wish more people thought the same way.

Ralph.
