I was wondering what the best way is to sell your domains once you have bought/registered them.
What are the best techniques for selling your domains?
Are you best to setup an asking price on Sedo or should you pursue a sale from whoever you can find linked to that name/niche?

There is a wealth of information on this forum that will answer your question, however, the most common ways to sell your domains are:

1) Auction places - like Sedo, Afternic or Ebay
2) Private Sales
3) Forums - like NP's

best way to sell imo....


is to first try to buy or register, domains that have some commercial value or potential.

you also need breathing room

in other words, you need to have some other income to rely on until those names get sold....if they ever do at all.

it may take you up to 10 years or more to sell a domain or you could get lucky and buy today and flip tommorrow.


being prepared to hold a domain for the long run may yield a higher roi in the end.


also, if you got good domains, buyers will find you!

For me, most sales are to endusers and happens about two years after registering them
although I occationally sell within few months, but, those are rare.

And they come to me.
I tried finding endusers using emails, but, never worked

Well, As far as I have seen I think forums are a great place to sell domains.
I have tried few and got success.

Yes, if you get a reputable broker, it would be his job to find a buyer for you, however, each broker has a commission fee, which in some cases would be as high as 30%, but I've never used one so I wouldn't take my word for it, I think there's a section here on NP's where brokers advertise their services...

Digital items as in domains?. Yes, those are allowed, just go to ebay and type in domains and you'll be able to see the different types of categories that you can sell under.

The best way to sell is to have quality domains, so you won't have to chase end users, they will come to you. Quality is more important than quantity. 1 quality domain is better than 100 reg fee domains.
