I've got a good sized list of several hundred domains I'm looking to sell, several are excellent 3 and 4 letter domains that are .com, .net or .org and other .coms that are grouped or niches. I've got several very good two word and term domains as well. There are some challenges I'm facing, especially if you're using places like afternic, sedo, etc. to sell since you can't group them as a unit.

1) How can I best get across to potential buyers that I have either a set (.com, .net, .org) of the same name or a group that is a theme, e.g., sports related like footballsite, basketballsite, baseballsite, etc.?

2) Should I consider removing domain privacy from these domains that I'm selling in the event I want people to contact me directly? I can use publicly available information, but I'm wondering about the negative side to doing this. People can get a portfolio of all of your holdings, etc. which may have some negative results.

Thanks for the replies and ideas. These are domains held for 10-20 years. I've gotten some offers on some of them before. I have an excellent 4 and 5 letter .com which I received bids that I'm guessing were from brokers trying to resell.

Back to question 2 - is it a good idea to remove domain privacy? Once it's out, it's out, and if someone wants to buy directly and knows to do this, I'm not sure that having real information would make much difference. But you guys have more experience with this.

As to question 1 - no rush to sell all of them but would like to unload sooner rather than later. There are several lists I'm aware. I will probably post on all but putting up for auction means you really need to find the one site that you hope people interested will happen to browse while your auction is ongoing. Not sure if auction is ever the way to go.
  • afternic (supposedly most popular, but they take big fees)
  • godaddy - unsure whether it's a copy of afternic, which it owns, or it competes with afternic too, which would be not very good.
  • sedo - used it before and was quite popular.
  • namejet - was very popular at one point
  • dynadot - supposedly OK, not as many visitors but lower fees
  • namecheap - I use them for domains but never used their auction services
  • flippa - lagged behind from lesser interface, was better for selling sites rather than just names.
  • porkbun - never used or seen them
  • Here - NP - haven't used the marketplace. Not sure it is ideal for searching so volume is difficult to achieve.

Here are some examples, com unless stated. It's sometimes difficult to appraise BINs and make offer is easier to use. I've seen BINs that have prevented me from bothering even making an offer. What I won't do is put a floor, which I think is not a good policy. Let resellers confirm with you terms.

I respectfully disagree. Legal is a lucrative industry. If you have any term with law, lawyer, attorney and a two letter state abbreviation or a legal are, they are very recognizable. The four and five letter .coms are easily brandable and usable (I received inquiries.) With respect, you mentioned registering a million dollar name and I'm curious to know what that might be and how you value domains. I own a fantastic domain and even that probably won't hit the million mark.

I am in much the same position as you. I have 500+ domains- many 20 years old, and now that i am retired I am looking to sell via auctions/brokers/outbounding instead of relying on inbound action as I have done in the past. Looks like your list was taken down- I would have liked to see it.

PI'm facing the reality that prices are by necessity lower when you are reaching out or selling, as opposed to someone who really wants your domain reaching out to you. Having said that, I have about 20-30 short, brandable names that are increasingly valuable as hits move from search to AI. I:m wondering what you and others are doing for CRM and pipeline management? I have no experience with those types of software or experience with setting such things up.

You won't get much for bulk domains because the only people interested are other investors/domainers.

Just think about it... no end-user is buying a bunch of bulk domains in various niches.

That means the investor wants a deal, so they can make money.

You are better off focusing on a few domains to sell to end users. 1 or 2 end-user sales will bring more money than you will get from selling all of the domains to an investor. Make sure your domains have landing pages, and listed on afternic, sedo, etc....

Edit: I looked at your list, I will focus on selling FYZR.com it's a good one. I'd list it for $10k-20k and just sit on it. Put a buy now lander on Afternic, Sedo or Spaceship, register it for a few years and move onto other projects.

You may be lucky to get low to mid $XXX for a 4char or be patient and get 5 figures...

Makes sense but when I said "bulk" I meant groups, not the entire list. For example, if someone is interested in the sports niche, they may want to purchase a similar set, e.g. footballsite.tld, basketballsite, tld, hockeysite, tld.

Still going to be investors, end users only care about acquiring their brand.

Yes. But it's not possible to provide information to anyone browsing a list of domains that "hey, I've got others as part of this set" which can also include the .com, .net and .org of the same domain name.

I would use a landing page that permits descriptions, such as:

https://www.namepros.com/articles/templates-for-namepros-landers.1168016/#comment-9533213

or

Spaceship SellerHub, example domain marielle .ai (mine)

or Atom, DaaZ, Sedo (descriptions shown only on offer pages), etc.
