Hi,

I've got an LLL.com which I have developed and would like to keep hold of for a few years (my pension fund?) and I was just wondering where people would suggest I keep it...

I currently have it at Fabulous but I am thinking of transferring it to another registrar.

So, where's the best place to keep an LLL.com?

I would be very grateful for any suggestions/advice you could offer.

Thanks,

Ben

Fabulous is a great registrar. But Moniker is the best for valuable names IMO.

You have it at the right place IMO, Fabulous added extra security and they have an executive lock feature. I would keep at Fabulous or Moniker no place else. Again IMO

From the Fabulous help manual:

3.1.4. What is an Executive Lock?

An Executive Lock allows for the domain name to be frozen.

This means that the domain name is:

* Unable to be transferred out to another Registrar.
* Unable to be pushed to another Fabulous account.
* Unable to have changes to its nameservers.
* Unable to have the registrar-lock status removed.

This effectively freezes the domain name in your account under the status of "Registrar-Lock"

NOTE: Renewals and WHOIS contact updates will continue as normal.

3.1.5. Why would I want to apply an Executive Lock?

An Executive Lock adds another level of protection to our clients domains.

Registrar locks prevent the domain from being transferred out of your account and prevent any of the domain settings from being changed; with an executive lock in place you can specify conditions that need to be fulfilled before the lock can be removed from the domain.

3.1.6. How do I put an Executive Lock on my Domain?

Please Note: When an executive lock is applied to a domain the lock will remain permanently on executive-lock status and you cannot remove this status without contacting the Senior Management of Fabulous.

Releasing the executive-lock may take several days to proceed.

there was another post somewhere and godaddy removed a doain from someones account due to some legal issue with yahoo- but, the guy said no one even told him all this time about the issue- godaddy just took the name from his account-

does this prevent that? or can fabulous do the same thing?

I'd go with moniker for any of your valuable domains, just for a little extra security.

not only does fabulous have executive lock but they also recently added up to 5 security questions that you can set, if someone logs into your account they would have to answer up to 5 answers correctly based on your settings before a push or transfer would occur, if set on executive lock that is even stronger security, based on these new features added I consider fabulous the most secure registrar I have used.

Moniker has the best rep for being the most secure, I would consider them.
