I have around 40 domains id like to sell. I havent been pushing these domains for probably 6 months now, been doing other things.

Who can advise me on the best domain name appraisal service. I dont want to clutter the appraisal section with all these domains so im after a 1 shot bulk appraisal.

Has anyone had experience using a professional service?

Ive sold domains through Sedo before, and found them pretty professional. I sent an email off to there appraisal service asking what they charge for a bulk appraisal.

None of my domains are what you would call "premium"...there all 2 word combinations, admittedly some quite nice ones. There are some automated services, but they all pretty shady...

Im in no massive hurry to get this done. So even suggestions for listing portfolios for sale, or if anyone knows of any private companies that deal in buying portfolios.

Ya i can do a google search, but im after experiences and feedback.

Any help is appreciated guys...

Pay?

Do you mean one that you can pay up to $200 or more for? One that will give you a professional evaluation by people who have specialized in appraising domains for years and years, even since the first day domains were invented?

Do you want a professional appraisal that will let other people know "this domain is guaranteed to be worth this much, $20,000, per our professional appraisers?"

If you do, THERE IN NO SUCH THING. YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO TO LAS VEGAS AND GAMBLE THE MONEY AWAY!!

I don't think there has ever been a domain sold for what a "professional appraiser" said it was worth. Don't you get it? They are going to tell you your domains are worth 10-100 times what they are really worth, just to make you happy with giving your money away to them.
Then, to make it worse, you are gonna look like a big dummy when you try to sell your domains, and say "well, according a professional appraisal I had done by ThanksForTheMoneyDomainAppraisers, this domain is worth $35,000.
That will be the last time you will hear from the person you were trying to sell your domain too.

Just kidding by being so direct, but you are better off getting free appraisals here. Even if everyone gave you lowball appraisals, you will know which domains are the better ones. You can always ask more.
If you start out asking crazy amounts that make no sense to anyone, other than the "professional appraiser", you will never sell even one. :)

suggest u send ur name to greatdomains.com they are more professiona base on their statement, at least, if ur name been approved by them, u will feel comfortable to continue hold them until u want quit the domain business for ever...

they are free for review ur name and decide if can put ur name on their "great doman list" at big $$$$ for sale..

the other way is put ur name here in the forum asking appraisal, it will reflect the reselling price within the domainers...

this two way will totally different result may be, by the way...

I dont see Sedo charging $200 for a domain appraisal? Are you saying somebody with a post count of 20, can appraise a domain better than a service run by professionals over a 5 or 10 years? If so thats pretty dodgy logic imo. Not that I asked for your ridiculous rant either.

What i plan on doing now is getting 1 domain appraised through Sedo, using there premium service just to see what factors they consider important, how they lay it out etc. Then ill be using that as a basis for formulating a better idea of appropriate prices.

Of course its all up in there...theres no saying what you get, thats the nature of the game, but its nice to have a better idea that I have atm, and for the sake of $50, im not gonna go broke doing it. Its like paying for short course lol. Anything wrong with that?

The appraisals in free appraisals range from hilarious to reasonably accurate in my view, i need something just a little more considered.

seo premium will send you a pdf with their appraisal

What i suggest to you is to look at the reported sales

That's sedo last criteria, they use their sales database for similar names or domain styles. They will mention some as an example in the pdf they will sent you

Cold Appraisal is like asking someone "How this domain sounds to you?"
Reading the sale reports is like asking yourself "Can i sell my domain at this price?" :$:

However i must say that i do like appraisals (in namepros not anywhere) because i like to see and discuss the opinion with fellow domainers

(word of advice : beware the $0. reg free, type of users outside of Namepros.com. These are the people that try to downgrade everybody's domains except their owns. To help you identify them, will be the guys that even if they see "casino.com" they will appraise it for mid $XX :yell: )
