Best External Hard Drive To Buy?
Hey guys! My sister is currently in college and considering im the "nerd" in the family she asked me "What is the best external hard drive to buy, and where should I buy it" I just finished sending her this message and I thought I would share it with you guys if your ever interested in buying an external hard drive. These are NOT affiliate links or anything. Just posting this for information..
If you are still in need of a external hard drive here is a couple of links. First off the best place to buy any electronic in general is Newegg (http://www.newegg.com) A+ BBB rating, over 200k transactions a month, very competitive prices, great customer support, free shipping on most products and great warranty on each product.
1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...3-Latest-_-ExternalHardDrives-_-22211070-L06C -> Great little hard drive. Only 500 gigs but I like this one specifically as it has USB 3.0 (faster transfer speeds) and it is " MILITARY grade Water & Shock Proof" the ULTIMATE way of keeping your data safe. Right now it comes with a 10$ mail in rebate till 2/28/13. FREE 2 day shipping. This hard drive is portable I would highly recommend portable for you as it is much lighter and smaller then a typical desktop external hard drive.
2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822211068 -> Same exact thing as number one except it has 500 more gigs! For only $30 more. If you decide to go with this I would recommend the extended warranty for $10 extra. FREE 2 day shipping.
3) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149220 -> Stable yet portable external hard drive. 1,000 gig hard drive (1tb), portable so it will be very convenient to move around etc. Manufactured by TOSHIBA. A good thing about getting a device like this by a well known company is that they will backup their products 100% via support / and if you have any device malfunction etc. The extended warranty would not be needed in my opinion.
Which one would give you the best "bang for your buck" I would recommend number 2. As your getting a fast, sleek, portable, plug-n-play hard drive with free 2 day shipping.
Of course the bigger the hard drive you buy the best deals you get $/G (Dollar per gig). If these are not in your budget or your looking to go a different route. Maybe cloud storage, Simply because you do not want to carry around a hard drive. That is fine. For someone like me I need my data on my phone, laptop, desktop, tablet anywhere and everywhere. So ill stick with my Google drive for $50 a month for more information you can check it out here https://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2375123
Anyways, best of luck!
Edit: Sweet! This is my 100th post!
