I don't type out . c o m - I type CTRL+Enter

In the hot.pizza VS hotpizza.com debate - do you all understand how many people in the general population will type it in a search instead of the URL bar anyway? Many users don't even know the difference and/or their browser has a URL bar search default they are unaware of.

BACK on topic:
The extensions I like are
com - io - ccTLDs for short names and hacks - and ws/xyz for cheap fun, we'll see if I still like them at full price renewal : wink :

Plus I like .io because it is easy to type, all left hand, including Enter.

Left hand? For me it's all on the right hand.

Furthermore, I think the discussion about .com/new tlds gets old. Why can't we all just agree to disagree?

.com investors have a whole bunch of possible end users who like .com.
new tlds might very well prove to be a good investment over time. If that happens, a lot of people here will make a lot of money.

In that scenario, everybody wins, so why try to convince each other of your opinion? It will never come to an agreement. It is like putting a jew and a christian in 1 room and let them debate until 1 of them is convinced and changes his religion to the other persons religion.

.top sounds stupid. It is an extension made for Chinese by Chinese and under the control of the communist Chinese gov. I worked and lived in China for several years living under the Great Firewall.. and life for Internet users who like freedom of information is hell. In the end, .top is all all about how many registrations they can get. But adaption outside China will be zilch.

The problem occurs when you try to explain to people how to visit your site: hot.pizza.

first they will type hotpizza.com
Chinese buyers just bought 尼康.世界 (Nikon.World) - $6800 USD - 2016 , they didn't buy NikonWorld.com . Actually. Nikon bought it ......

How exactly are they self explanatory when you just 5 minutes ago had to explain how to type in dot pizza to make sure your potential visitor would not go to pizza.com instead?

Not honest comparison, comparing a 1 word .ngtld to a 2 word .com.
Nikon or world in .com would be millions, but you can't have a one word in the above example, think about it some new gtld's don't have the capacity to be a 1 word ngtld.
Credit to xyz is unlike the word new gtlds you can have a one word domain name because it's generic. I'm not saying I like or dislike XYZ just saying that new gtlds are not all the same.
